Just bought a 1977 Honda Civic. Have a friend who will airbrush the car for me. Redoing the interior from scratch myself. But it's all a waste of time unless i replace that 1.2L squirrel racer under the hood. Anyone tell me what engines fit in the chassis? Any ideas? Much appreciated.

Nothing fits in that chassis without severe front chassis mods. You will have to tube the front end if you want to swap it, period.

I was told that a around a '93 Civic engine would fit. But the guy didn't tell me which one, or the exact year...You don't know anything about that eh? Thanks for the help.

I wouldnt say it is that impossible ... people have swapped d16s in to them ... there is some trimming and alot of custom fabing that needs to be done but its not imposible

I didnt say it was impossible either. I said it would take "serious" mods. That car has some mods but it looks, from what I can tell, hacked. I would be scared to drive that car. That chassis has a notorious design flaw that most people dont know about which causes the front suspension to break free from the chassis. If I were to do a swap on that car I wouldnt waste my time with the stock front suspension. If you are going to dedicate your time and money to a project like that you may as well go "all in"

HA! Now you're talkin'. I think that car would be fun to drive, but I have to agree with Tobi, I would be scared to drive it.

Thanks GimPin for the site. Lot's o stuff on there for me. For now anyway, i am driving as is with the 1.2L engine. Runs well...Just has no go. Gonna swap engines some time this winter, once I figure out what to put in there. May not even go Honda engine. Have had some other suggestions made to me. A few people think i should go V-dub. We'll see.
