Finally got a few runs in on my new drag radials. I can actually use third gear now, first and second are still useless.
12.693@119.8 , run tonight at Silver Dollar Raceway, east of Macon, GA
My brother got some 18" drag radials on his M3 and got a 13.2@106

Buy slicks. They are one of the best purchases possible for anyone with a high powered car that goes to the drag strip.
Nice MPH though, kind of frightening.

Nice, good job on the ride. Did you get any video footage of it?

No video, we brought a camera, but we got there late (took 4 hours to go 150 miles thanks to Atlanta traffic) and there were a lot of breakdowns (an engine exploded, internals and oil all over the track, a few busted gears/axles, and the entire back end of one car came off, rear axle/wheels, rear sub-frame, back seats, etc, all came out of the out the back), so we spent all our time in the staging lines so we could get in a few runs.

That's what I'm thinking now too, if I could get it to hook up in first and second it it would do better.

Isnt that pretty close to what Stu was running up here?
Do you think you will break some axels with the slicks?
The BMW ran the same traps as me, but a little lower. I should have been able to get times closer to the BMWs had I had some traction.

The BMW times were with no traction issues, those 18" drag radials would not spin.

Hmm ever think about possibly going hardcore and using a two-step to aid your launches?

I'm working on it, I'd actually need a three step, and there are some other issues as well, like the inability of a 7 lb spring to control 20 PSI of boost. I got a GM 3-way boost control solenoid, and my tuner and I are figuring out how to set up the boost control in the EMS so it locks the boost at the correct level in each gear. Hopefully we'll get it fixed shortly, because it would be nice to have for street driving as well as the track.
