Would an LS head (b18a1 to be exact) bolt up to a b20b block with no modification tobi?

I think so. THe difference would be in the headgasket and dowell pins I beleive. Why would you want to do that though?

im building a high compression b20 for someone who already has a b18a in their vehicle, and so i was just going to upgrade the cams/valvesprings/intake manifold in his b18a head and put it on the b20 block. Youre thinking this is not worth the trouble?

No its fine. If you were starting from scratch I would say just find a VTEC head. But if thats what you have to work with then by all means tear it up.
