Alright i already have posted in the tech forum but am not getting any results so i'll try here. Car is a 93 civic hb with a 94 b18b. To make a long story short VSS went out ecu started throwing code 17, the next day car starts running really rich and threw code 43 someone said that they had some of the same problems when vss went out so i changed it but didnt fix the fuel problems. Tried changing fuel filter, nothing. Changed the o2 sensor, nothing. Now i don't know where to go next? Injecters, pump, regulator, ecu, something else? I know its running REALLY rich cause my o2 sensor was solid black. And there is some real light white smoke coming out of the exhaust, not a lot just a little.
Thanks for any help,
Ben

Is the car obd2? If so, is the front O2 sensor known to be good?

John, both car and motor are OBD-1, per the years he stated for each.

What other mods are on the car besides a swap? Fuel upgrades?

Throw in a fuel pressure gauge and see what your fuel pressure is. Did you reset the ecu after replacing the O2 sensor?

Your best bet would be to have "the man" look at it.

The only other thing that i have on it is a short ram intake that has been on for about 5 months. I reset the ecu after i swapped the o2 sensor but haven't gotten any new codes thrown yet.

I completely missed the part about swapping the O2 sensor.

Well throwing parts at it is definatly not the answer. The reason I didnt post in the other thread is because you have already answered your own question.

And there is some real light white smoke coming out of the exhaust, not a lot just a little.

If the engine is smoking you need to address that problem before you even go near a code 43. The code you speak of is the computer trying to gain a certain A/F ratio but not being able to aceive it due to other problems like leaking injectors, vacuum leaks, poor compression, exhaust leaks.... Basically anything that could mess with the air fuel ratio. Like a smoking engine.

I know its running REALLY rich cause my o2 sensor was solid black.

That is not a good way to tell your air fuel ratio. All 02 sensors come out black.

Well what of those problems you speak of could cause my car to run the way it is? Bogging down in low rpms but fine in higher rpms. Exhaust smelling like gas and going through way more fuel than i should be going through. Also, is there some place you guys know of that could take a look at it and figure out what is going on so i can get it fixed?
