I'm selling my T3 turbo for $280. I bought this from a seller in Ebay that remanufactures turbos and has excellent feedback from all their buyers. This is the 3rd turbo I've bought from them and have not had any problems with the turbos for the past 2 years. I've decided to keep the AC on my CRX so I'm just going to keep my nitrous set-up. The turbo was originally $320 shipped and you can view the exact turbo now on E-bay item#2496628748. You can ask the seller questions if you have any. This turbo has not been used since I've bought it and still boxed up from the seller. I've used this same turbo on a D-series sohc CRX motor and it has full spool about 3000rpm with excellent top end power. This one also has the internal wastegate and I ordered this one with both water and oil cooling. Excellent turbo and very reliable. Let me know if you have any questions.

Here we go again... can you really honestly tell us that Down2Turbo sold you a good turbo? The one I bought from him looked exactly like that and it was pretty obviously crap... dirt inside it, compressor inlet "polished" with sand paper, warped surfaces, mismatched compressor wheel & housing, exhaust housing off of an old Mercedes diesel (not a standard T3 5-bolt; it just looks like it), and on and on. And I was just one of many who one who got burned by him. It's funny how the box it came in had no return address and the seller started making up shit when I confronted him about the turbo's condition. Apparently I "ran out of money" for my turbo setup... (more like I went out and spent $500+ on a good turbo locally, on top of losing $300 to that worthless piece of shit seller)

Well I don't know how you can make claims that the turbo is a piece of shit unless you have actually installed the turbo and experienced it's performance. Like I said, this is a rebuilt unit and yeah it's not going to be as pretty as a brand new turbo if you want to compare it to that. You honestly think if the inlet was polished any other way, it would make a difference? And what "dirt inside" are you talking about? Warped surfaces? And finally if anything was mismatched or off balanced there is no way in hell these turbos would have lasted as long or perform near what they have. After buying this third turbo, I took it to a local turbo shop in Golden called TEC to see what they had to say about the unit. Of course, they say that their stuff is better and I agree. They said the exact same thing you said about the mercedes housing and not having the standard T3 5-bolt flange. Okay, the one I'm selling will have to use the internal wastegate, unless you can track down a mercedes 5 bolt flange or custom make one if you want to go external. Although this one is not as nice and shiny as TEC builds it is still a good performing turbo. I've bought two custom turbos from TEC with a cost of $500+ a pop and I have bought two rebuilds from the E-bay seller at $300. Both work well and I have not had any complaints from the people who have these turbos in their cars. Put it this way. If you have a low budget and want to turbo, buy this. If you want to spend more, go somewhere else.

So have you ever seen the turbo put on a car and it actually boosted? We put it on a car and oil was leaking everywhere inside the housing, not just little drips, it was gushing out. A friend of mine in MD did the same thing, thing didn't even have a chance to build boost. Is there any way you can guarantee the turbo will run?

TEC is the same place I took mine and they said they've seen a number of people get ripped off with these turbos. Before I told Jim anything, he asks "did you get that off the Internet from Alabama?" and then he proceeded to tell me the story behind these. My initial feeling was that he was just trying to get me to buy one of his, but I quickly realized that was unlikely... he knew all about it before I even said anything, he made no mention of selling me anything (he had enough business already and didn't seem to care about getting more), and when I looked at it closely for myself, I saw that he was right.
The dirt I saw was when I pulled out the plugs that were supposed to be holding in the assembly oil... I look in there and there's fucking dirt caked on the walls and no oil to be found! The warped surface was found when I removed the internal wastegate... it was very obvious that the surface was not flat. I bought a real turbo rather than even trying the eBay one because it's not fun to replace engines... don't need some crap coming apart and getting sucked in.
If it was such a great turbo, I would have just sold it and got my money back, but instead it's been sitting in my closet for over a year now. I'll probably eBay it one of these days, but I doubt I'll get much out of it (since I'll be honest in it's description).

Yes, it is building boost on the two cars that is using the same turbo. Full boost at about 3000 rpm. Did you buy your original turbo from the same seller? He has a 90 day warranty on all his turbos. The one I'm selling has a warranty until Nov. 27th 2004. So if it craps out, I'll definitely help you get the warranty. The seller responds quickly with any questions I have and the return address is clearly on the label of the packaging.

Yup, I bought it from Down2Turbo. For a guy with a "90 day warranty", he sure was quick to start making accusations and refuse to take it back.

I knew you talked to him because he said the exact same thing when I had him check it out. I was actually surprised to find out that it was based of the dieses mercedes T3's because they worked so well with regular gas engines, like the Hondas I put them on. Jim is good at what he does and I respect the man for everything he knows about turbos. I like TEC and the quality of their work and obviously having a new custom turbo is always the best choice but when there is a budget on the line, people will get the best deal they could find. I'm not saying that I'm a turbo expert, but my expereince with this turbo has not let me down and it will work well for a low budget build. I would take this $320 rebuilt unit hands down before I consider buying a used Mitsubishi/DSM turbo. Look at all the positive feedback that Down2turbo has on his rebuilt turbos. I based my purchases on the feedback results of the seller. With that many good, experienced feedback from other buyers why wouldn't I buy from the guy. I've tried his turbos, it works for me and it will work for others, sorry that your visual inspection of the turbo did not meet you standards. Just sell the damn thing and I enjoy your brand new TEC turbo.

It's all good. I'm not stressing on the sale at all. I just wanted to hook up the local folks first but it looks like I'm going to E-bay or just return the thing. I just want to make it clear that I'm not selling this to rip any one off. The original E-bay seller has a good product for a good price but I guess all it takes is one upset buyer to complicate things. That's business for you. Drive safe y'all.

Do you have pictures?

I can get pictures posted up as soon. The exact same turbo I bought from the seller on E-bay does not have the item available right now but it will be available again in a couple days. That turbo is the most common sold first on his auctions so when it comes up again I can let you know. If you get on E-bay and type in item #7929869831 on the search bar, this is the same turbo I bought from the seller. The only difference is the one shown has a T4 housing which is bigger than than the T3 I have. The exhaust housing is exactly the same as shown in the pics and I also have the 3 bolt flange for the down pipe that bolts on to the turbo. I ordered to have an oil and water cooled housing, but you can just run oil only if you don't want to mess with routing water lines. Also check the sellers feedback for reassurance that you are buying a quality rebuild.
