Probably a dumb question around here, but hey, I'm new. :D

I think you guys are stuck with the same ones denver has

winterpark, A basin, Crested Butte, Cooper, Berthode Pass (They closed down, but you can still hitchhike up the pass) are the best IMO

vail is good if you go on a weekday, too crouded otherwise

Dont forget about Loveland pass. Super close and it costs nothing. You just have to hitch hike back up like berthoud.

Loveland isn't very challenging, I heard. But it's cheap. My favorite place to go is Copper. If you go up into the Aspen area, be sure to go to Snowmass - they have a half pipe, and they also have the longest run in Colorado (5 miles, I think).

Winter Park and Loveland take the lifts to the peaks :king:

Loveland and keystone are pretty good if your a noob, I went to aspen once, its a cool place, but defiantly overrated, but they grossly overrate their runs, I went down a "triple black" that could of been considered a blue anywhere else

[shameless pic of me at aspen]

Any lift prices on these places? I've been to Vail and remember it being $75/day. We got some flyer about somewhere that was offering $99 season passes. I'll have to find it and run the name by you guys.

Anyone have any hookups or know a good place to pickup Ride equipment? Looking for a Timeless. :o

40 bucks to go to Eldora or Loveland I believe. I like Loveland, been to Keystone, Vail, Eldora, Aspen and A-Basin. Boarding's boarding for me, all the resorts in CO are good enough for me.

how good are you or is this your first year? What kind of terrain do you like?

I like winter park the best, but i always end up getting the four pass to copper, because it's cheap, and i can only ever manage to get up there about four times a year anyways.

When I lived in AZ I went a few times per season. I'd say I've been going for probably 4 or 5 years. I'm good with grabs, but still working on the spins. Hate the bumps and the insanely steep slopes. I like the well sloped runs with some nice air opportunities. Still freaked out by the huge air though. :D

Keystone was the place offering the $99 season passes. Any good?

wild.irish: halfpipe :p

before they went out of business Grand West Outfiiters used to be a good place to get Ride equipment. I picked up a 2000 or 2001 Timeless for $250. I love that board. you might check out Galyans and see if they have any good stuff. Gart sports only carries lower line ride, burton, morrow, 5150, and lamar. Myabe try North shore, colorado kite & ski, and some other place that I can't think of right now.[Any lift prices on these places? I've been to Vail and remember it being $75/day. We all need to go sometime! :)

The AF Academy has a shop that rents full board setups for $150 for the whole season so I'm going to go check that out on Monday. I've been looking all over ebay and online for a good deal on a Timeless and found a 159 on REI's site for like $380 and there's an REI here on Woodman so I might see if they can get it here for that price. Such an expensive board, but I so love it. I don't remember what year it was that they had the black-top ones, but that's the board I used to rent. I had a buddy that worked at a rental shop so I always got that one with K2 step-ins for free the entire season in AZ. I got hooked. :D

i love Keystone. best part is night skiing there. this year i just got keystone/A-basin pass for like $270. but i can't say if it's any good for snowboarding, except that terrain park and halfpipe ;)

Steamboat is one of my favorites for Colorado. Keystone is pretty badassl as far as Interstate resorts go. Beings that I am a fat kid, I just like to ride and go out in the trees from time to time. Even though my Never Summer board is getting to be aroun 4 years old, I still love it.

ill be most likely going up this sunday to A-Basin if anyone wants to head up.

When does A-Basin open?

I've been riding about 9 years now, and skied for about 7 before that. Snowmass is the shiznit, though Butternuts... er, milk has been good about terrain parks down the entire mountain.

I got the Key/A-B pass this year. I think Breck sucks, and I never make it to Vail (which also sucks) or Beaver Creek. I am getting the 4 day for Aspen/Snomass since the parents live near there.

I ride a K2 Trucker, since I have ginormous feet. If they continued to make this board til the day I can't ride anymore, I would always have one.

Loveland is already open, but i didn't think the rest were gonna open for a few more weeks, if a-basin is opening already that would be awesome.

I may opt for that Keystone pass then. Where can I see info on the other passes available like for A-basin? Going on google now. :)

I usually get the Copper pass, too. But it's good for me because I don't get to go up that often. I tried boarding last year, hated it, and this year I'm going back to my skiis since I've been doing it since I was 4. We could all plan a day to go up and hit the slopes...that'd be fun!!

David
10-20-2004, 12:49 PM
you can get a copper/winterpark pass for a pretty good price usually.

This thread makes me miss skiing

I would highly suggest staying away from an A-basin pass........my buddy had one and I went with him a few times...........way too small of a place and half of the black and double blacks aren't open on that one wall to the left of the lifts............snow was shitty too......lots of dry spots.......I have had Monarch passes and copper passes............I think I am going with a coppper pass again.

Update: I just bought a snowboard! YAY!

Picked up a 2001 Ride Timeless in great condition. It's a 158 which is perfect for me. Paid $230 shipped from NJ so not bad if you ask me. I'm really excited. Should get it next week sometime. :)
