John Stuart used to be funny... now his show is just a bunch of cheap shots at Bush.
Where did he get so full of himself that he thinks he's so special? At least America is wiser than that and has stoped watching him. His viewers droped 7% last month, and it's only on the decrease. People get sick of hearing the same gay shit over and over again.

I have been saying this for almost 17 years:
Entertainers should stick to entertaining and leave the politics to those who are educated in politcs
People are sick of actors talking bad about Bush and whatnot.
Everytime they do, their careers go down

Haha, only allow people who are so called "experts" on the subject of politics discuss it. No free thinking or educating yourself on topics that you aren't going to make a profession out of because that's someone elses job.
I never knew it was someone elses job to tell you how people are doing or how things should be, I thought you as an individual are suppose to choose. No wonder our country is the way it is now. ;UgH:

Do you call going on cable TV and bashing the government an educational experience? I dont think celebs do it to learn about politics
You can think whatever you want.
You can say whatever you want.
Doesnt mean what you say doesnt come with consequences.

You dont want the news nor Patrick Swayze telling you whats going on in the country?

I think you're reading my comments wrong. You were saying that people who are not political analysists should not talk about politics in any form because it's not their job. I completely disagree with not allowing people, no matter their profession, to voice their political views. He is just stating a view, what is wrong with that? I don't think that you need to be labled as a professional in the forum of politics in order to have a valid opinion.

I'm saying that we shouldn't base our opinions solely on the information given to us by news reporters because they are just stating a view of a situation. And yes, our country is bad because we ALLOW other people to tell us how to view things without giving the whole story. Most people now a days watch the news and assume that's the whole truth therefore have an opinion that is given to them, not choosen by them.

Anyone can say whatever they want, they just shouldnt be surprised if their acting career goes downt the tube.
My problem isnt that they are 'expressing their views' but rather that they are exploiting their celebrity status and have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

By saying this you completely contradict your first statement.
First you say everyone should say whatever they want no matter what their profession is, then you say our country is bad for ALLOWING people to say something without giving the whole story.
So people just shouldnt be able to talk unless they bat for both teams.

If everyone kept thier thoughts to themselves and entertainers solely entertained, this country wouldn't be what it stands for.
The two asshats on Crossfire aren't real political analysts either. They are nothing more than highly paid actors that are fed information prior to air and spout them in a rude unprofessional manner. Watch and listen to how they ask a question and when Jon Stuart attempts to answer they interrupt him. Why do you think he was getting pissed? That's what they want, and on-air verbal disagreement so that people will tune in and listen to their bullshit. Americans like nosy, personal, pointless conflict.

It doesn't contradict itself if you actually read it. I didn't say the country is bad because the news tells half truths. From the start of that comment I stated it was about the opinions people develop based on what they are told through mass media, not the opinions expressed by them.

How can anyone explain the phenomenon of Arnie in the Gov seat? He is doing a good job (and is a republican;)). It is the Reagan effect working it's cycle(He was an actor, for most of you youngins). Although Jessie Ventura is a good argument for the actors staying out of politics argument as well. Maybe we should look at individuals for their intelligence instead of trying to pigeonhole everyone. I realize that it makes the world easier to look at, but it is rather simpleminded. They want that.

CNN aired Jon Stuart speaking at some forum yesterday. He was pretty clear about the fact that The Daily Show is not news, that their viewer base is already knowledgable about the subjects (because otherwise they'd have no interest in the show), that the daily show assumes a certain knowledge base, that their whole point is to make jokes about the news.
He is not a political commentator. He is a self proclaimed joke maker. But the thing that makes real commediannes really funny is when their observations are honest and uncensored, i.e., Lenny Bruce and his ilk.
Don't Shoot the messenger.
I am unabashedly in love with Jon Stuart. He has a gift and he's brilliant.

Michael Moore has a shitload of credentials too, does that make him a professional documentarian? Fuck no. Does it make him a good filmaker? I guess it must because you fucktards can't stop talking about his stupid films.
My point is that I don't watch shit where some fat fuck tries to make some sort of point about how shitty this country really is, And I don't prefer to watch two suit wearing faggots argue back and forth while constantly interrupting eachother about some bullshit that wont change anything.
I would make a show called Crossfire that would involve those three douchbags running through a battlefield.

So you dont think these guys can deliver a coherent thought of their own?
What does it matter if they are political speakers?
That just means they are very good speakers and know how spin things towards thier perspectives.
Plus only one of them worked for Clinton.
The other was just a newspaper columnist.
