I was on Colfax today and ended up challenging a VR4 from a roll. It must've had a custom exhaust because it was a single outlet, instead of the dual outlet. I was even with him until I got wheelspin at the top of second. And I know he was pushing it hard because I could hear his engine real well. So I was just curious what they run up here.

MotorTrend say 13.6 @ 100 for a '97 3000GT VR-4 (presumably at sea level)

Of course, being AWD, it's really slower than it's 1/4 mile time would lead you to believe... I was running high 98 traps at around 14.5, so it's probably equivilent to low-mid 14's in a FWD car at sea level.

stock they run mid 14's

i ran a 13.6@102 with exhaust, and a new maf, no boost controller..

Up here a VR-4 is a solid 14 second car, at sea level they can get into very low 13's in the hands of a good driver. Motor Trend ran 13.44 seconds @ 101.79mph, Mitsu's claimed time is 13.6

Somewhat off topic, but a pal of mine with twin 20gs on his 3kgt motor had a hard time running 12s. :(

Might that have been Pete? Back in the day there wasn't much of an aftermarket for 3/S's (there still isn't, really), and a lot was lacking when it came to tuning tools. In just the past couple of years, our aftermarket has been making leaps and bounds, though still we're almost an ignored niche in the large corporate aftermarket world (the bastards)

And that's why we're here, silly. 'burnout:
