Well, the problem isn't engine specific. My brother-in-law let his girlfriend drive his Teg(knowing that it had a radiator leak) and guess what happened? lol. She said that it overheated so she pulled into a gas station and shut it off. He just bought the car so we don't know it's history, today he asked me to look at it. When I first started it it seemed ok, just idling a little high(don't know if it was doing that before). When I gave it gas there was a repeating spitting sound from the backside of the engine, then it bogged down and died. After that I wasn't able to keep it running long enough to locate the sound, but I did notice that it has a brand new intake manifold gasket so they might have sold him the car knowing it was fucked up, he's only had it 3 days. What do you think? Maybe cracked block or warped head?

anyone feel free to chime in.

No clue. Not having ever seen the car or heard it I couldnt even begin to guess.

err, that's what I was afraid of. I was just trying to avoid going to the trouble of pulling the head to check it. Thanks anyway Tobi.
