For the love of all that is holy, will someone please let Philip
Royale borrow their thesaurus? Although it is quite a feat to use the
adjective "handful" four times in the span of a three page article (Page
44, sept '04), it does not make your magazine look like a professional
publication. Instead it reminds me of a skit from the movie Super
Troopers.

Otherwise, keep up the good work on putting out a mag full of sweet

REPLY:

Matt,

So I take it the irony was lost on you. From meow on I'll go back to
overusing the trusty automotive journalist favorite: ubiquitous (also mildly
ironic). I think the original problem stemmed from the fact that the word
"handful" isn't in my Roget's thesaurus (Roget's II The New Thesaurus, Third
Edition, Copyright 1995 by Houghton Mifflin Company. All rights reserved).
Maybe I need a new one. That's alright, though, as the dictionary I use
(Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary) bares a 1989 copyright date.

Thanks for your letter, though. It brightens my day to think that people
actually read what we write.

I'll forgive you on misspelling my name.

Philip Royle
