Went out a little while ago to start up my car and it started up just fine but when I was putting on my seatbelt the car just died. So I tried to start it again after a few tries it started again. I drove about a 1/2 a block and it died again like it ran out of fuel. I checked my volt meter after it died and it was at 12.4. Whenever I try to start the car I can hear the starter try and turnover the motor. I'm not quite sure but I think its either the fuel pump or alternator.

What do you guys think?

sometimes if i have to start my car two times in a row, the second time is not always successfull. i think it's probably getting too rich as fuel pump works each time you turn your key. so you have to figure out the reason why it dies in the first place. does it just die on idle?

The first time I started it it just died while idling. The second time it was driving about 30 miles per hour and then it just died on me again and now it won't start up at all.

I tried to jump start it (just to see if it would work) and that didn't help.

Think it may be a bad fuel filter?

I also tried to kick the panel like tobi said in the other thread. That didn't work.

Check spark, you can buy an inline spark checker for like $5 at Harbor Freight. You put it between your wire and plug and then crank the motor and a bulb will flash if there is spark. You can also check fuel by cracking open the bolt on top of the fuel filter while cranking and it should spray out fuel. It will leak out the fuel in the line just by opening it, so open it a little and then crank and you should see a fuel being pushed out by the pump. If you are missing either of those work backwards.

He wants to change the oil every 3000 miles, not refill it every 30 miles.

this fucking prick just got me. why don't you shove this chevrolet up your ass? you have two threads to play in, stay within bounds! you are not wanted here.

anyway, Brad, also check all fuses. there are a couple which disable fuel pump and ecu, they might be the reason also.

Yeah, i didn't think it was a fuse right off the bat cause i got it started the 2nd time.

And yeah and ricers suck, I am pretty sure there are a few 4 bangers on this board that would hand your ass to you.

P.S. Dumb asses like you destory the fabric of the us. not imports!

Check your main relay. :) I have a very similar problem... the starting problem USUALLY only happens when it's hot out, but it's done it other times as well.

Yeah I tried doing the "hit the lower left part of the dash while starting"

It didn't work.

My friend is bring over a volt meter in a bit to see if the bitch is even getting power.

P.S. DOes anyone know where I can find a picture of the inner fuse box for an accord. I don't know where mine went and i dont have my chilton on me.
