This thread here http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=776837 claims that an f22 block can be found for $150. do you guys know if it is reasonable to expect to get an f block with tranny for about $200-250? i don't ever saw junk yards selling anything that cheap. i don't really care about mileage on it, i just need a hands-on tutorial ;) any ideas?

Thats pretty typical for an f22 block, a little more if its in good shape

Colorado has a ration of junk yards, so it might be hard for you to find an old junked up accord with a good f22 still in it locally. If your just using it to take apart, and fiddle with to get a feel for a honda engine, I would just get a d15. You could find a longblock for less than $50. And when I fiddled with my junker engine, I couldn't get it back together right (just something to keep in mind)

that's why i want f22 to play with, not just a honda engine. I want to really get to know my engine, and become an f22 specialist ;)

Some motor places online list them for around 400-500 for everything (ecu, tranny etc). This week I am going junkyarding I could keep a look out for a f22.

Are you wanting a f22a1/4/6 f22b1/2 ??

f22b2. it should be off of 94-97 accord. that would be cool, if you see something, just drop me an address of the junkyard

Actually f22b2 is off lx/dx...f22b1 is ex (vtec)

I was at a junkyard off colfax and tower rd and they had about 3-4 f22b2's unk condition and sadly this junkyard pulls the parts for you so they kinda charge labor to pull it (increased parts price  ). I think they said around 400-500 for a f22b2. I still need to go to another junkyard (looking for a 1g dsm IC) and I will look for you ;) .

thanks alot! i never knew there's a junkyard on colfax & tower, i should probably check it out someday.
i was also planning to hit a junkyard soon, it's somewhere on brighton st./rd./blvd.??? not far from downtown. i pass it every so often on my way to and from work, but never actually been there. i could also keep an eye for you. 1 gen dsm IC? what car is it coming from?

We have a B20A longblock sitting here you can have for FREE if you're just looking for something to take apart and check out.

thanks, Ryan, i won't immediately jump on this, but i'll think about it. i did want to get a hand on the f22 block. if i had a bigger garage, i would pick up your b20 block out of curiosity. but for now i have to carefully plan my actions :)

Actually I already bought one ;) . I am now looking for 90-91 accord fog lights :D . There is also a junkyard if I remember correctly in commerce city like highway 2 and *draws blank* but I got some stuff before, lots of cars and cheap prices.

what kind of fog lights? do you mean honda factory fog lights? if you're talking about a honda factory fog light set for accord, you need luck! ;) i tried to find it for 94-97 accord, and i looked at dozens of accords, but noone had it. i was actually looking for a stock fog-light switch. ended up buying it from tasautoparts.com.
