I put a V-AFC in last night; it's on a B18C1 with P28 ECU. I didn't hook up the VTM wire because, well, it didn't make sense to me at the time to bypass that signal.
I lowered VTEC to 4500 rpm and it still works. I've read that the VTM wire is there to fool the ECU into thinking oil pressure is always fine, but isn't that sorta a bad idea? Kinda like intentionally bypassing the knock sensor (yes, I realize my P28 doesn't have the capability to respond to my knock sensor)?
If I never throw a CEL, do I really need to cut off the VTM wire to the ECU and feed it the blue VTM output wire from the V-AFC?
