Ok so I pushed my lil Mini-Me a lil too hard last night. When I was done I smelt a little oil burning. I look under the hood and see some oil spots on top of my intake manifold and hood. I can't see where its comming from from the top. The Vtec solenoid and cylinder head looks fine, its comming from under the intake manifold for sure.

It isn't leaking or running different but I'm wondering where the hell that came from. The wierd thing is that the oil spots where lil balls I could pick them up with my fingers like bb's. So does anyone have any ideas or has had a simular issue? Any and all help as always is greatly appreciated!

Ok I found that it is comming from my exhaust right where the headers and Cat bolt up. So now I have a big problem Oil in the exhaust I started it and noticed some blue smoke nothing really bad but enough to make me worry.

Sooooooo what do you guys think is it my piston rings? Gawd I hope not but I can't think of anything else it might be. The head gasket is brand new and the cylinder head is in really good shape. I dunno should I just take it to a shop and see what they say?!

Do a compression and leakdown test.

Do I have to go to a shop for that? If so who does it?

You can do it yourself if you have a compression tester gauge.

go to an auto store, get a compression checker, take out your spark plugs one at a time, screw that in, crank the car over a couple of times and tell us the results

Cool I'll have to do that this weekend. If it is the Rings is it worth replacing the bottom end with a D16Z6 or should I just upgrade to a B16?

There's more to it than that.

Remove all plugs
pull fuel injector fuse
prop throttle at WOT
screw on compression tester
crank 4 to 5 times and read gauge
move on to next cylinder and repeat
