Hey all,
My current setup has a slightly modified TD04 14B on it. I have slightly used TD05 16g (BIG) on my garage floor. I read somewhere that the Compressor wheel on the 16g will fit inside the 14B housing with some porting. Is this true? If so anyone know anyone that can do it for me? I'm not familiar with porting turbo housings and don't wanna screw it up..
thanks,
Dave in Denver

Hehe, I love my Dremel. But I'll only do it to my stuff in case I break something.
The 14b and 16g housings should be nearly identical. Why not just bolt up the 16g and call it a day?
If you do need to hog out the 14b housing, have a pro do it. If you are in the Denver area, call Turbo Engineering Corp in Golden.

Well, they are supposed to be nearly identical. My 14b is not the atypical. The company I got my turbo kit from actually calls it a 15T which as far as I know doesn't exist anywhere but in their head. ;-)
My compressor housing has some sort of adapter ring that allows the wastegate solenoid to be mounted correctly regardless of where the housing is clocked. Plus it has a standard outlet typ and not the funky 2 bolt Mitsu type found on most DSMs. Make sense? I would prefer to use the '15T' housing so I don't have to make some more charge piping.

there is no such thing as a TD04-14B, it's a TD05H-14B, but close enough ;)
and no, a 15T does not exist. in theory you can bore out any housing to fit any wheel, but i personally would use the 16G housing, since using a different housing will change the turbo's performance characteristics.

I've seen Volvo's come with 15Gs and 16Ts (both mitsu turbos)... uhh,, but I guess that doesn't help you any...
I say bolt on a 16g and call it a day.
