The military maintains plastic surgeons on staff for legitimate purposes, but quite often not enough servicemembers get maimed in the line of duty, so if the plastic surgeons are underutilized then they can perform elective surgery, at their option, on servicemembers who request it. The surgeons are eager to do that kind of stuff because they know that it is what will make them the big bucks when they get out. I worked with a girl who got huge new boobs and a bunch of other work done on her face, teeth, and the rest of her bod, all courtesy of the US Navy.
