Yes, I am having problems with my skunk 2 intake manifold. The mecahnic is saying that when the manifold is installed it causes the engine to surge when driven. Other mods to my car are an aem intake, edelbrock throttle body, and dc sports header. Do any of these other mods have anything to do with the problem? Is there an adjustment that needs to be made to the timing. Nothing was mentioned about extra tuning being needed for the intake manifold. Please any info. on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

the only thing that I can think of is that the mountig surface is warped or something. If youre not getting a good seal with the gasket between the manifold and the block you could be getting a mean vacuum leak which will cause a surging idle.
That's what I was thinking.

1) Your mechanic is full of shit.
2) Did you do the IM and throttle body at the same time? Could be a leaking throttle body gasket too.
3) Maybe screw down the white plastic thingie inside the fast idle control valve on the back of the IM. You can find how-to info on this on HT.
4) Yes, oddly enough Skunk2 doesn't mention how you can lose power with their ITR copycat manifold without tuning. How strange.

Fast idle shouldnt cause surging. I'm guessing it's a leak or even a misplaced vacuum line.
The Skunk2 IM alone doesnt yield anything significant. It would be beneficial if you were boosting or had mods such as more aggressive cams and cam gears and even upgraded valvetrain and raised rev limit.
