4th of july I detailed a friends volvo. It was 12 years old, had over 120k miles, and didn't seem to ever be waxed or detailed. It had no clear coat and was very oxidized. The car was a very dull red. It also had some linseed oil (sp) all over it from a moron trying to spray a fence. It was definitly in need of some love and care.
Really dull paint...

You can see the milky/cloudy effect the oxidation has

Wheels/tires and bumpers needed some help too.

Of course we weren't going to let it stay that way.
Here is the change on the wheels. 1/2 way done with one and you can see the difference.

Gotta do something for the oxidation. This is the hood where 1/2 was buffed and the oxidation dealt with

Very very satisfying detail. Took a very long time, but was well worth it. This thing looks like a brand new car.
There are lots more pics at http://www.mines.edu/students/p/pfchrist/volvo/
It was a little overcast when we took the pics at the end. I really want to see how much more that red will come out in direct sunlight. It was amazing how much the color changed. I have never seen anything like that before.
Your work is always fantastic!
or something like that.

That's about the same result I had when my girlfriend and I detailed an '86 GTI we just got. It had single stage red paint that was badly oxidized and Klasse worked wonders, along with a few hours of devoted work. You couldnt even tell that car had sat neglected under a tree for the last five years.
Good work Paul!

Wow..thats badass man..I can see why you were so excited about it. Pretty amazing work. How long do you think it will stay like that now that its shined up again? Did that car have a clearcoat ever or was it just basecoat/topcoat?
Nice work indeed! :)

Single stage paint with no clear.
Now that it has some good uv protectant on it (Klasse SG) it should stay unoxidized for quite some time. A little proper care (that the owner now knows how to do) will go a long way with this ride. It should still look that good and be running that good at 250k miles.
