Same camera settings, but the sun moved so the lighting changed a little bit. Unbelievable though how well this shit really works. :p

looks nice.
I really need to do this to my car, along with the interior and paint... looks like I might have to reserve this weekend to do all that....

Does the giggle juice count? If so, then it's no competition.

What are you using?

Gunk Foamy Engine Brite (it's $1.50 at Pepboys, so I got a couple cans), and then Armor All Tire Foam. I've done 2 cars, and I did my tires today with it and I still have a good half can left of the Tire Foam.
So give us a walk through already you lazy dickhead! ;)

 Fine.
I didn't cover any of the components up. On a cold engine I rinsed the engine bay(nothing high pressured... just used my thumb on the end of a regular hose) and got the engine wet. Took a whole can of GUNK Foamy Engine Brite and sprayed the whole engine. I'd avoid intake and alternator... and hold a lil caution around dizzy/spark components. Just hit everything. Wait about 10-15 minutes, and rinse the engine just like you did the first time. Now take your can of Armor All Tire Foam, and do a light coating on the engine bay... the heavier the coat, the shinier it will be. I used maybe 1/6 to 1/8 of the can... after you've done a light spray on the stuff, close the hood and let the car idle for about 15 minutes. Then I grabbed an old rag I had, cut the car, opened the hood... and I wiped any of the stuff that did not fully dry. Voila... pulled the car inside and snapped some pics. :)

I just did this, we will see how it turns out. My engine bay had mud caked on all over the place, once everything drys out I will snap some pics and show you the difference.
Ill be doing a fully engine bay clean up when I instal my turbo stuff, I just did this to see how it works and so people dont make fun of me at club clash again :D
EDIT - Here it is. I started scrubbing the engine bay before I sprayed on the gunk but got bored so I stopped. And looking at it I missed some parts, but all in all it did pretty good, but it cant take care of mud :D

anyone (ie tobi) know the official answer on covering up electrical parts before doing something like this? One one hand it seems like it's a good idea because it's electrical. On the other it seems like it might not totally needed since some engines are somewhat open and water can get up in there while driving anyway....

I covered up my stuff, its not hard. Couple plastic baggies, zip ties and some tin foil did fine for me.
I got the distributor, battery terminals and all the wiring harnesses I could find, took me about 3 minutes to do.
at the very least cover up your intake

At the shop we don't cover anything. We spray on a degreaser (blue max, good stuff) let it soak in for about a minute, hit under the hood with a soft bristle brush. Then we use the pressure washer and blow everything off, alternator and distributor included. It's not too bad when you use pressure since it's less water soaking into everything. The only problem we have is with fords and their damn cross drilled distributor caps, I swear I've blown out more of those than ANY other make. Anyway, then we let it dry for another 3 minutes while doing other things like wheels or jambs, then drench it with super dress all. Blue max is good because you can cut it so many ways, 1 to 1 is strong and not recommended for interiors since it turns things white, 50 to 1 is best for getting interiors, it goes on and on, same for the dress all.

David - looks a LOT better man, but looks like you may want to dump some Simple Green in there or something... I thought my engine bay was dirty.
