Going to purchase a SI guage cluster and was wondering how to set the mileage to match my curent mileage on the cluster that is in there now. Does anyone know how this is done? :)

I think if you put the car on jackstands, start it up, and put it in high gear with a brick on the gas it should work... just don't get made and shove the car, cause it might shot out the back of your gargae and down a hill... what a way to ruin a great day :)

I lost the keys to my Civic and need to get to work. Can anyone tell me how to quickly break into a Civic and get it started without the keys?

its easy, all it takes is a big rock, and a bottle of tequilla... actually, just about any problem can be fixed with those 2 items, even World Peace...

take off the plastic cover and get something small and just tick them back to where your stock cluster is.

They are mechanically locked and wont tick back. I have matched clusters to cars before, but its costly. $$$$$$$
Can't you just roll it forward?

I heard about someone hooking up the sensor to a dremel took once..and setting it up at 10k rpm...puts on some miles..untill he set his cluster on fire.. :)

When my car was stolen the instrument cluster was taken, so I had to buy a new one, and the miles were about 40k off. ~5 minutes with a dremel, and it was fine. Don't go too fast, someone I know did that and melted the gears. Apparently 100k miles in about 4 minutes on the odometer is more than its rated for. That's what, 1.5 million miles per hour to the odometer? ROFL.

I think I saw one about bypassing the steering lock on an Integra a little while ago that was along those lines. There's just some stuff that probably shouldn't be posted on a public forum.

ok first of Don't ever roll the odometer back. roll it forvord and till it passes 999k miles it might sound stupid but 99% of the people who role the odometer back mess it up. so most of the time the odometer don't work right. i know about a dozen people including me that did this stupid mistake. at first it works fine but wait till you go couple miles usally (10-100) and it starts to have glitches. you can get you odometer back to how ever miles you want in about 30 minuts.
Its sounds like alots of time but its worth it. trust me you don't want to mess up ur odometer.

It's not illegal to match a new odometer to his current mileage. That's what they did to my Prelude when I needed a new Odometer. It's only illegal if you roll it back and sell your car.

thanks I figured it out and it was easy just took some time and a steady hand. Also I wasn't trying to be shady, I was rolled the mileage FORWARD on the new cluster to match not backwards. Thanks for everyones 2 cents. :Peace: :fu:
