So I got the teg back and it was overheating so I brought it back to the shop... He said the relays can get "stale" (sp?) when the car sits as long as mine did.. Anyway I want to replace them now so I don't have the problem anymore (fans don't always turn on when the car is hot).... Well the relay says Denso on it and was wondering if checker carries them.. anyone know? thanks... hopefully I will be able to reply but I have to leave in a while.. l8!

I've never heard of a relay getting "stale". I've heard of them going bad over time with use, but never from just sitting there idle. Check your fuses, then see if the fan comes on when you short the thermoswitch. It's the sensor in the thermostat housing, which is where the lower radiator hose attaches... just undo the connector, connect the two wires with a paper clip, turn the key to the run position and see if the radiator fan comes on or not.

Now that I think about it, if that was true, all the parts sitting on shelves waiting to be bought would be "stale" and no good.

Buy FACTORY honda parts, i.e.=get them from the dealer, don't use aftermarket shit.

Only the dealership carries them anyways. You can't find them at Checker, Autozone, Napa...etc. About 7 bucks from Honda.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAH! STALE?!?

What a bunch of no talent fucks.

I would put that shop in my rearview and never turn around. WHat they probably did was get a big fat air bubble in your cooling system causing it to overheat. Then they didnt catch it on the quality check (if they have even heard of such a thing)

well i had the same problem my fans didn't want to turn on. i replaced my radiator and put new coolent in the car and forgot to let the air out when the car was running. so once in a while my car would over heat. but after this guy let the air out from the cooling system it was all good.

Sounds like what happened to my old Grand Am. An air bubble caused my car to overheat and spilled antifreeze all over. At least the guys admitted what it was.
