i want to know for sure if a 90 crx hf 5 speed tranny will fit right into a 91 std civic with 4 speed manual using the same cv axles. thanks

4speed and 5 speed axles are different.

is it the splines that are different?

Splines and shaft lengths are different. You can use the 5 speed axles in the 4 speed car though. Just not the other way around.
