I went out to start my car this morning, and I got that dreaded click...didn't want to start :( I jump started it with my Dads Vette (thats good for some horse power right?) let it run for about 5 minutes, turned it off and it could barely start this time, im letting it run right now seeing if it just didn't charge all the way.

This pisses me off, I just bought a new battery a couple months ago and now this. Is their anything else I might check for, if not whats a good battery? :(

Could also be a dying alternator that's not charging the battery.

Also, if you just bought the battery a couple months ago, it should still be under warranty.

yah, check the alternator. You can take the car to Checkers or VatoZone or Advanced Auto Parts, or the dealership or probably even Pep Boys and have them do a load test on both the battery and the alternator. It should be free, unless you take it to Firestone, those fuckers will charge you $19.95!

I cleaned the terminals with some baking soda/water, wasn't that dirty but its worth a try.

Would the car just up and shut off if it was the alternator though?

Prolly around $75 from Vatozone w/ core.

Get it checked out first.

depends on the car. I paid $138 after core return at Advanced Auto Parts. Dealership wanted anywhere from $400 to $750, and that did NOT include labor.

glad you won't miss the T&T ;)

anyway, i'm buying my batteries at Sams Club. they used to have Champion, now it's ...eh, don't remember it's name, but something that is with NASCAR logos all around (not that it's a good sign or anything). well, i know sams club is wallmart, but they have 36 month free replacement, and that's damn convenient. and they don't really care for the reason why you return it - i mean i forgot to turn off fog lights once and it killed the battery naturally. so they just replaced it.

of course saving a receipt is a good thing, hehe ;)

check ur batt cables and make sure its grounded well. my aunts intrepid had the same problem. my dad replaced the positive cable to starter and alt and the car has been running normal ever since.

From now on charge the battery if it goes dead. The charging systems are meant to only keep a charge, not fully charge the battery. I learned the hard way on my Gixxer 600, too many times I had to push start that thing, I paid with a 200 dollar system fix.
