I posted this on ClubWRX.net but figured some of you might be interested as well. Stop by, and bring some friends... it should be a good time.
Hey guys,
summary:
Rasta Pasta in old town Ft. Collins
Friday, May 7, 10pm, 21+
The Sisters O'Brien playing a show, and raffling off prizes
Helping to raise money for a community service group I am travelling to Africa with this summer
details:
I know there is a decent Ft. Collins group, and I'm asking for your help here. I am going to Zambia and Botswana for 2 months this summer with a group named FORGE to help improve the education and living conditions in two refugee camps there. I will also be working on a photo project focused on all of the interesting things that these people do to pass the time--much like ourselves. You can see some of my previous photo work at www.BryanTroll.com
There is a great band called The Sisters O'Brien that is helping me out bigtime and playing a benefit show at Rasta Pasta in old town Ft. Collins Friday, May 7 at 10pm, and the proceeds will go toward raising money for FORGE, which hasnt been easy to do. They play really chill, GOOD music. They recently picked up a few new members so who knows what they'll come up with at this show.
Rasta Pasta is a bar, and entrance will be 21+. The band really is amazing, and I'm not just saying that to get you to come out to it. Entrance will be $5 (or less), and you'll be entered into a raffle to win some gift certificates, tshirts, or other goodies local places were kind enough to donate. You can donate further if you would like, and each additional $5 donation will get you another raffle ticket.
Thats about all the info I have right now, if you can stop by you really should!! Maybe we can make this a meet... meet up before and then go to the bar/show. If this is a success it will really help myself and FORGE out.
If you have any other ideas on how to raise money in a limited amount of time or you want to help, get in touch with me. For more info on the group, visit www.worldrefugeeacademy.org/WRAForge.html
