What is a air bypass valve...
I think its like a blow off valve but it puts it back in the intake right??

Would this be the reason that my exaust "flutters" when I shift..

sorry for repost but I wasnt getting any answers.

It's probably another name for diverter valve or blow-off valve.

It puts it into the exhaust stream.

SO would that be the reason I hear the fluttering coming out my exaust when I shift...

Unlike a blow-off valve, it recirculates air during shifts instead of dumping it into atmosphere.

that is not what an air bypass valve does, it mounts on your intake and it prevents hydro-lock (when too much water is sucked into the intake) if you have a cold air intake it is a must!!

You're a moron. Yes they sell air by-pass valves for ricers such as yourself that mount on your "cold air intake" tube but an air bypass valve, which a few companies call them, is also known as a blow off valve or diverter valve. Just different names for different companies.

It doesn't re-route the air into the exhaust though, it goes back into the intake, thiis is why you can't just switch it to a BOV, because then you'll run super rich when you shift.

My BOV diverts air back into the piping before the turbo so the air metered by the MAF gets recirculated. Does yours really go to your exhaust?

No, he's a liar.

Also, a by-pass valve isn't necessary for cold air intakes if you still have the splash guard in your fender. Without it, you guys would be surprised how littel water it takes to shut your motor off, it happened to me last year.

My stock BOV dumps back into the stock intake.

You want to get poked in the eye when you show up to the track tonight? Cause I'll do it.

It might be the waste gate making the noise, Dumping boost during shifts (into the exhaust)

Read this (http://jsalmi.com/bov/). A bov is a dv is a bypass valve. Some are designed to vent to atmos, some are designed to recirculate.

Exactly, and you need to recirculate if you have a MAF, otherwise you can vent it to atmosphere.
