whew, its been a while since i've posted on HAI.
glad leo posted about the meet on ClubWRX. met some real nice guys out there, and this one girl who has some pent up anger towards boulder... what was up with that? :p
the ep3s decided to drive out of the lot as fast as they could, and after almost causing a pileup at the end of the lot, brought 4 cops in... thanks guys. they didnt do anything so i guess no harm no foul, but honestly... grow up.
hopefully the WRX guys will branch out a bit more next time and meet some more kids... cant really try to make an excuse up for our lack of social skills. glad we met some of ya though.
till next time...

K Leon, heres my Homocide story.

Two years or so ago, me and 3 other kids were making a cinematography video for one of my friends scout requirements, he decided to make it a spin off of cops. We drove out into the middle of nowhere, where the nearest place to be seen from was about 300 400 yards away, and started filming some scene about me beating up another kid for not paying me, then the "cops" or the other two kids came up and I was supposed to pull out a gun and shoot at them. Then they of course would kill me. Well as it turns out some guy decided to pull over on the side of a road about 400 yards away and some how watch us do this. He saw me get shot, and then saw blood, so he called the cops. I get up, we all get in the car, and start driving off, no more than two minutes later, like the whole elbert county division was right behind me going about 125. They pull me over draw their guns and had us do the hands where they can see them bit. They got me out of the car first, cuffed me at gun point with like 8 cops pinning me down on the ground like I was going to try and escape. They arrested the rest of us, and after all was said and done, they let us go. The charges were, Homocide, Felony Menacing, Trespassing, Assault, and Evasion of the Police. They dropped all of them. As it turns out 4 people saw it and called the cops. The man on the road, two other people in a house, and the funniest one was an old lady who lived as far as the guy on the road was. Old people cant see that well so I am assuming she saw something else and freaked out.

the ep3s decided to drive out of the lot as fast as they could, and after almost causing a pileup at the end of the lot, brought 4 cops in... thanks guys. they didnt do anything so i guess no harm no foul, but honestly... grow up.

Sorry, but I have to defend the ep3 guys. I don't know about the guys at the front, but I was the last one out and I wasn't driving fast. The "pileup" was because there was a STOP sign. And the cops were already there and coming even before I got to the stop sign. So, if we seemed a little immature to you, then I apologize and will tell the other guys to drive "slower" next time.

All in all, good little meet. Tobi, if my sister's car is still there, I will come by and pick it up myself. Sorry for any inconveniences it's causing you.

Hahaha, that's a good story.

Now for a story of my own... I left the meet at like 11pm and didn't get home until after 3am, by way of a tow strap and an early 90's Honda Accord. I was on I-25 when my CEL comes on, engine goes dead, and speedometer goes to zero. I immediately knew it was an simple electrical problem, and quickly determined that the ECU wasn't getting power (fuel pump wouldn't kick on, dead speedometer, dead AFC). I was really expecting to find a blown fuse, so I checked the fuses... I dropped one important fuse in the engine bay, never to be found again, but fortunately Honda includes spares, so that was easily fixed. Checking the fuses under the driver's side dash was quite a bitch, because of semis flying by at 90+ mph, but I managed to crawl under there and do it from the passenger's side. All of the ECU/PGMFI related fuses were good, so I pulled the ECU out and checked my AFC connections, but that was good too. So then I had a friend tow me off of I-25 to a gas station. I fucked with it more there, but no luck, so we towed it like 15 miles home with an old Honda Accord.

I got home and looked at my repair manual's wiring diagram to find that there is an SRS fuse that could kill power the main relay. I went to check that fuse, but grabbed the one next to it by mistake and found that it was blown. So I looked at the chart to see what fuse it was and it was an PGMFI fuse... the same one that I thought I had checked on the side of the road. It turns out that I checked the wrong one before, because this one was in the SRS section and seperate from the others. All of that trouble, cursing, and embarrasment over a blown fuse! :(

So, that's my stupid moment of the year. You should have seen the looks we got by towing my Integra with an old Accord. Our tow strap was pretty ghetto too (one strap with a hook on each end), but it didn't fall off until the very end... We were pulling up in front of my garage when it fell off, so it was no big deal and I just stopped my car, since we had to push it in anyway. Then all of the sudden, the car that was towing me stopped really violently like he crashed into something, but I heard no noise. He thought I slammed on the brakes or something, but I wasn't even hooked up anymore. Well, it turns out that the hook fell off of my car at the perfect time to catch on a drain in the parking lot, but it didn't fly up and fuck my car up because my rear tire was on it at the exact right time.

Yeah, I have to second that defense. Every car I saw leave that night "accelerated" out of there. Anyway, as we pulled onto 108th out of the park two cops were entering the park, we had nothing to do with "bringing" them into the park.

Anyway, fun times.

Tai, Anh, it wasnt the EP3 guys. That was just too quick of a response for any city cops. :D

Since they saw a big group of imports, they came by to make sure we werent doing anything illegal. One of the cop cars put their spot light onto the walking trail so I suspect someone reported motorized vehicles in the walking trail....you know who I'm talking about.

from where i was it sure looked like there was some swerving going on to avoid rear ending each other in the front of the line, but maybe not. i'm just sensitive to that kind of thing because it seems like every time we find a good spot where we are allowed to meet and arent getting bothered someone ends up ruining it for the group by doing something stupid and drawing unwanted attention to ourselves.
thinking back, the cops must have been coming in to look for the mini-bikers. not trying to piss anyone off, i'm just really careful to behave myself at meets cause i feel like we are always being watched, and there is nothing more frustrating than ruining a good thing (like the park we were at last night).

Let's face the truth here... Almost everyone was screwing around in one way or another, so who cares if the EP3 guys did it or not? I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't have a problem with it, as long as no one is being reckless, doing burnouts, free revving their engines, or otherwise needlessly attracting unwanted attention to us.

The cops are going to show up if we do anything or not. That's was proven last month and the cop even said so. They searched the field from below last time too.

what's up guys? This is Kate from last night... I was with MyShtern.

Contrary to popular belief I really don't have any pent up anger for Boulderans... especially the temporary, college kind :) Haha, j/k! Boulder is a cool town... my favorite little coffee shop is there and Alex & I hit up a fun little hiking trail the other day there. K, well those aren't what makes it a kosher town... I met these WRX guys that showed absolutely NO resemblance of your average Boulder people... so, for the time being: I am pro-Boulder. :) LOL Seriously, though... I don't have anything against Boulder. Sorry to disappoint ya!

Anyway... I've got a good story to tell:
So today after my massage I was scurrying off to work and this midget cop on a motorcycle pulled me over. When he first approached my car he said he clocked me doing 63 in a 55. I was bummed, but thought it kinda silly. Come to find out that I was being served with a 6 point, $195 ticket for doing 63 in a 40 and the officer had simply misspoken!!! Can we say STUPID PIG?! I can. All my points are gone... honestly, I think this whole point system Colorado has is ridiculous. I am thinking in 30 days I'll go get a Kansas DL, claim my permanent residency in KS and not have to put up with this point bullshit. GRR!

By the way, my lil excuse for a car is a 1994 red Honda del Sol. However, this has been one long post... catch ya later!

I had a little trouble when I first got my pocket bike too but my trouble was not driver error it was brake error... When they shipped it they had the brake adjusted so bad that the top speed of the PB was 5mph... I was confused and pissed because I payed 300$ for a pocket bike that goes 5 mph... I realized that the brakes were on after i touched the rotor and it burned my hand..

Trying to start out on a pocket bike w/ the breaks on is a BITCH the only way I could do it was run with the bike under my legs and jump on really fast, I kept doing this until I racked myself then almost picked up the bike and thru it thru my neibors window.

I tried to put the pocketbike in the portapotty, still running. There's a whole different set of skidmarks now.

That car was actually really, really, well done..I was impressed. Not much that was rice about it..definately a little too much "show" for my taste..but still a very nice ride. :)

Personally, I didn't think that Eclipse was Rice at all...it was very well done, clean, and obvious that he put a lot of work into it. Trust me....compared to other eclipses that I've seen, that one is probably the best.

That was my friend's car that I painted last year for him. I have the same sticker on my Civic coupe.

The Eclipse, Sebring, Cougar, and Protege have been at nearly every single big out door meet for the last year now, and all those guys post every once in a while as well. I'm surprised none of you guys have taken the time to meet these guys and show them a little more respect.

I did!!!!! I walked right up to them and complimented their work. Of course I was a little impartial to the eclipse, but man!! The guys were so cool!!!!

I didn't see any rice at the GTG everyone seemed intelligent and "specific" about their modifications (none of this "well, I'll just put this on my car 'cause it looks good"). Everyone looked great and we had a good time. We were a little shy so didn't meet a whole lot of you but did talk with the gentleman with the Eclipse and complimented him-he was modest! I sure as hell wouldnt' have been ;)

It was good to see "HondaGhandi" again (raced with him at the Pomona Raceway in Southern CA last October). I apologize but I keep forgetting your names *blush*.

Thanks for a great GTG! We look forward to attending more

Someone nicely brought it to my attention that some people's license plates were showing. I think I've rectified the situation. Sorry about that, those of you who were "violated" for lack of a better word ;)

Thanks for not roasting me!

Kyle, Nick, Albert, and Javiar all went to highschool with me and are all great friendly guys. I remember when they first showed up to the BIG barbeque last year in Castle Rock I was nervous about the kind of attention they would get. Now, they've been to many of our meets and I'm glad to have them as a part of our group. I think it would be a nice gesture for some of our other members to pay the same respect to them as they do to everyone else. Thanks for making an effort to break the ice Alex.

I have just one thing to say (well, one thing with 2 points): Confidence is great-important even! Cockiness is rude and, in my personal opinion, undeserved. But, hey! I wish I didn't give a shit about other people either! ;)

No problem buddy. I think you guys take adequate amounts of pride and time with your cars and actually enter them in car shows, so you deserve all the respect you get from me.

Exactly right, Stu. All their hard work is obvious, and the fact that they have been in shows, is more than a whole lot of people can say for themselves. They have my respect!

Nick: Not a problem! I was very excited to meet you, and I look forward to seeing you again!!!! Keep us posted of your upcoming shows so we can check you out!

Last Saturday was actually the 1st today is the 7th but no matter. I take it this is a monthly thing. I'll come by for the first time probably. Hope to see some good WRX's so I can decide how to mod mine. Very interested to see my old DSM's and other fast cars. Late.
