Has anybody else seen those white emission trucks that sit on the onramps. They have cones set up and supposedly they take a picture of you license plate when you drive by and check to see if you pass emissions too with some thing they have set up. If you fail they mail you a ticket. Ive passed like 4 or 5 of them and have never recieved a ticket....yet. Has anybody else seen them or recieved a ticket bc of them?

I've seen them. I wasn't sure what they were. There's always one on the on ramp to I-70 west at Kipling in the morning. It looks like they have some sort of sniffer device set up.

Really? I've never seen them there. I think they can only send you a ticket if you live in a certain county.

i've seen them in numerous places, and they're not permanent, they "drift" ;) santa fe had one, several i-25 exits have them at some point in time. somebody already posted here that he passed such emissions truck under heavy boost, and eventually got a ticket in the mail.

Every time I see that van I floor it, maybe I shouldn't do that anymore....

On a side note, I'm not sure if the van that I'm seeing is the same one you guys are talking about. I've never even heard of people getting a ticket from one of these things. They do have a sign up when ever it's there that says something like "Emissions test vehicle ahead" or something.

Stu, I've seen it there at about 7:30am like 5 or 6 times in the last 2 months. Once it was there 2 days in a row.

Well, I forgot to tell you that I used to frequent that exit a lot, but now I haven't been on it in months especially that early.

They don't mail you a ticket or otherwise fine you. It just allows you to skip a trip to an emissions station if you pass.

yeah, but it's not obvious how i will know if i don't have to go to pass emissions after i drive by this truck?
Do not stop at the testing van.
i'd like to see this dumbass who would stop in an accelerating lane!
