Ok, so I had my dad drive my supra back from Co Springs because I lost the master cylender :-/ and now guess what..... Now the clutch is toast or so my dad informs me... he sayd that the motor turns but once turbo kicks in the motor spins and thats it.... this is confusing me anyone know what he is saying and why would the clutch have to do with the turbo.

Prolly cuz he decided to go full boost on it and the car just sat there. :D Could be the clutch slipping really bad.

Because once the turbo is fully spooled, the motor is making too much power for the clutch to hold.

Well this just fucking sucks any ideas on a clutch to get?
I plan to do alot of launching and road racing... but still want the car to be streetable..

I like ACT. Affordable and good quality.

I second the act.Ive heard really good things about their street/strip clutches.Ive also heard that people should stay away from the six puck ones.
What kind of supra is it anyways? obviously a boosted one.

89 mkIII turbo...

My dad wants to put a stock clutch in the clutch itself costs 150$ and labor is 350$... any of you guys do it for cheaper and have the nessessary equipment. Im sure if I buy the clutch but get labor for MUCH cheaper that I can get a better clutch.

I want to get a racing clutch but how should I say it to him without him going o so you do race the car huh..

id say go for the street strip clutch.that way its not exactly a racing clutch. So he wont be able to say anything.Your reasoning behind getting the act should be that its much more durable and also better overall.

Just out of curiousity, how much would your dad have sold the Supra for? How many miles does it have again?

well, he never had a chance to even put a price on it he called me down the first day it came into his dealership.

It has 83k on it and its in great shape exept for the interior... My guess is that the kid who had the car decided he would have some fun doing burnouts and racing people before he sold the car... I think this only because the car has bald rear tires and the whole clutch assembly is fucked up... First the master cylender and now the clutch itself....

My guess is that scince the place he takes cars to get them checked checks everything in the car and they would probably have noticed both the MC and The clutch going bad....

Im guessing he probably would have sold the car for 4500 or something around that area because the cars pretty damn clean.

Ummmm…. You know if you master cylinder is shot then your clutch may be ok still, fix one thing at a time.

RPS (www.turboclutch.com) or ACT. I had an RPS on my mkiv supra which was rated to hold 750 ft/lbs. THe only downside was that it was a puck disk vs a full face disk.

Well this just fucking sucks any ideas on a clutch to get?
