'burnout: I'm FINALLY getting the integra back this friday or monday and had a few quick questions.... How do I break the motor in? I have a rebuilt turbo w/all new internals (crank, rods, pistons).... I have heard two things.. drive it easy for 1500 (until I tune it) or drive it like you stole it.. I'm thinking give it a good run every couple of days but not push it too hard... Also the gas in the tank (like half tank) is regular unleaded.. I am supposed to be running premium... Is now a good time to make the switch? Should I still ween the car off of regular like you normally would or just fill the rest of the tank with premium as soon as I pull it out of the shop? Input? thanks... I also may think of a few more questions and if I do I will most likely attach them to this thread.. l8! 'burnout:
Also... WTF IS THIS EMOTICON SUPPOSED TO BE DOING-------> ???? cheers???? WTF!?!?

If you have regular gas in it, throw in some 104+ to bump up the octane.
Break-in process is always difficult question to answer. You can do either of 2 ways, drive it easy for 1000 miles or break it in hard. Break it in hard meaning bring the car up to redline on a road and then let it engine brake back down. This extra pressure is supposed to help seat the rings alot faster and better. I think you should do this several times and then call it done.
Do a search on engine break in process.

I have a website in my favorites at home on breaking in a motor. I'll post it when I get home.
You are not allowed to break your car in until you get some fuel management, unless you want to rebuild it again.

You are not allowed to break your car in until you get some fuel management, unless you want to rebuild it again. It's gonna sit almost always and barely be driven (i'm lying to you).. I have no choice i'm just not going to open it up.. ever.... the turbo will never be on either (even though 4 lbs seems to be a lot) and it runs 4 lbs ewhen its off.. I know I need fuel management... I'm wanting the hondata in a little over a month...

 Unless you are some kind of Tibetan monk, there will be an almost irresistible urge to get your foot in it and feel the boost, even if only just for a little bit. Do you even have a FMU? You could get away with that if you keep it under 6 lbs. They go for <$100 on ebay and are easy to install. I had one laying around here forever, but finally sold it to some guy for $75. I blew my last motor due to poor fuel management and now I budget fuel management first.

I have no clue... and whats a turbo?!?!? anyway the car is gonna be put together and will probly be running tonight but they are gonna do some tuning b4 I put any miles on it so it wont be ready for a couple of days.... yee.. haw....
If you have an FMU you can break it in. I was mostly just giving you a hard time.

A missing link keeps your ECU from seeing positive manifold pressure and lighting the CEL.
The Vortech should keep you from blowing it up if you keep the boost low, but with stock injectors you can only flow so much fuel, even at higher pressures. I wouldn't go over 6 lbs with it until you get something better. I don't know if the high-flow fuel pump is a good idea, some of those pumps don't make as much pressure as the stock pump, and with a FMU, pressure is more important than volume at this point, so keep an eye on your A/F ratio gauge and if it's going lean under boost, stop driving the car until you get it figured out
Good luck with it, it looks like it's going to be a lot of fun.

:werd: My next step is an ECU cuz blowing it again just scares the shit outta me and then, of course, injectors... I'll ask my shop what they think about that fuel pump... I also only planned on running the car with the boost off (i'll ask what it runs at... guy who sold me the car said 4...) and it used to run 7 under boost at the most.... 6 sounds pretty safe though.. just need to smooth out the bumps... it's a mean little setup though :) I like it :)

I got the Hondata and have had no complaints. I've seen a lot of DSM 450 injectors on ebay for really cheap, they just need resistors. My RC 440 injectors will be on ebay this weekend (only used a few months), so please buy them!
How much boost are you planning to eventually run?

How much are you selling them for? And I'm unsure of how much boost I'm going to run as of yet... The most power on the least boost is optimal....

I'll probably set a reserve of a couple hundred on them, they're only a few months old.
What is your compression?
