i have a choice between a B&M shifter and a E brand shifter ( thats the brands name, i have never heard of them.) they are about the same price $70. The E brand shifter looks really nice and comes with knob. while the B&M shifter just comes by its self. Has anyone tried any of thes brands. if so what do u guys think.

Oh yeah are strut bars really that great?

I would get a higher quality shifter from a known brand.

Strut bars are mostly for bling. If you put one on a stock car, it wont do anything.

Strut bars are great tools to tune handling, but are best used as compliments to major parts. They are primarily used to stiffen the chasis and reduce flex. Basically what Leo is saying that while they do in fact stiffen the car up, you won't really notice any difference with just strut bars alone. You can compare strut bars to underdrive pulleys, they do what they say they do, but are generally a last resort fine tuning purchase.

i think i will go with the B&M. i was going to get a strut bar for the front and rear but will hold off on those for a while and spend it on somthing worth while. what i really need is a set of wheels and tires to match.

I have a DC sports short throw shifter off a CRX si, the part numbers are the same for your car. $20 and it's yours.

i have a B&M also. The shift is really short compared to stock. Bad thing abut mine is a design flaw for my particular car.
Rattles after 5,000 rpms because transmission noise travels up the shifter. i shouldn't say its bad, i guess more of an annoyance

My generic short shifter feels alot better than the skunk2 one in my civic. I think I'm going to replace it and put it up for sale.

No, it's just some no name one, they are all pretty much the same as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't actually sit shorter, but the throw is much shorter.

Yeah, I have a 98 Civic and my B&M shifter likes to rattle at higher rpms or in 5th gear.

One of my favorite short throw shifters with a short height is the factory del sol shifter. They are about $55 here (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=DEL+SOL&catcgry2=1993&catcgry3=2DR+S&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=SHIFT+LEVER)

I have a B&M Edge Pro, it is short as hell. Lovin it. I think it might be the shortest short throw shifter out there. A little bit more expensive though. As far as rattles go, I have none.

As for Strut Tower Bars I did front and rear and didn't notice the difference. The only one that I noticed was the lower tie bar that I installed a little later on. I could tell it made the chassie stiffer. If you don't know, it is installed under the car between the rear lower control arms.

My DC sports SS is silver, and it's in great shape. There is a very short throw. I had a rattle as well, kinda, but it was because when I had my exhaust installed, they put it so close to the bottom of my car (for better ground clearance). The short shifter changes the fulcrum (not sure on spelling, that doesn't look right) which positions more of the shifter under the car, this changes the amount of throw required to do the same amount of work. This made my shift linkage contact my resonator. I modified (see cut off a chunck of the shift linkage), and never had a problem again. Others should see if maybe this is there problem, except with the KA, there isn't any shift linkage to make the noise.

I noticed a significant difference when I put on strut/tie bars. I put all four on at the same time, so I don't know how much difference each made, but my steering felt more precise when cornering after I installed them.

And my generic SS vibrates a lot when I wind my engine way up.

I have a 91 Integra and with some unknown brand off ebay, shit rattles all the time. Likes to do it when I'm in high rpms or when I'm reversing...hate it.

i just installed my b&m shifter and it doesnt rattle at all, and it actually sits lower than my stock shifter. Also aftermarket knobs fit better too. i love it.

If they came with nuts that have nylon inserts, they should not rattle for a very long time.

DC correct? Do you still have it and is anything wrong with it? I'm interested.
