I am trying to rebuild m6y distributor, but im having trouble getting the rotor off. I have a 1987 honda prelude dx 1.8 liter. If anyone knows how to remove it so i can replace it please answer this.
Thanx,

well, what you have to do is coat the rotor with wd-40, then re-attach everything and drive around for a while. This way the wd-40 can penetrate the rotor and loosen up the grim that is holding it there. make sure that get enough speed and hit the brakes hard enough to loosen everything up.

ok, do not do that, you will die. All you need is a rubber mallet and hit the rotor as hard as you can until its loose. youll figure it out.
There is probably a screw holding it in. You may have to turn it back and forth until you find it.

Distributor rotor, not brake rotor.
Anyway, there is a screw holding it in. You'll need to rotate the engine until the screw is visible. Then get the right phillips head screw driver and carefully remove it; you really do not want to strip it.

just take a pair of pliers rotate the rotor a little both ways at a time and pull , simple easy and no hammer.
