driven-performance is in loveland, though they're relocating pretty soon to the denver area. i got all my machining on my bottom end done by them, and my heads are next up when i can scrounge up the cash.

thanks guys, im going to give all of these places a call and see what everyones price range is. I really dont want anything special done to my head just slight port work and some new valves put in. Can i do this with a die grinder or should i just leave it to the professionals? later, kevin.

i would say leave it at least the porting to the pros, not something you want to botch ;)

well the whole reason im doing this to begin with is i have 2 bent valves and i was told to take it to a machine/head shop to get taken care of. The porting im pretty sure ill leave to the pro's

as for the actual valve installation, you might as well have them do that as well, unless you have the tools to do it, such as a valve spring compressor and valve lapper.

whoever you go with, be sure you have your valves lapped to ensure a good seal.

I have a small shop in the Springs. Give me a call at (719)392-7122. I can do anything you want to that head. Plus, I have over 6 spare DSM heads here too.

The guides are the big pain and expense with those. Also, I know all the tricks of the trade what it comes to a nice porting job on those, and I have access to a bench flow tester! If you want it done right, give me a call :)

ok thanks jack, ill probably be giving you a call since you seem most knowledgeable on dsms. I dont really have alot of cash but if you'd be willing to cut me a deal i could hook you up on some bodywork stuff. Go here www.dynamic-driving.com to check our work out. Later man, kevin.

Depends on the car and what you want. Just a little port and polish on the intake side is around $100. That includes knife edging, and taking the 'bumps' out of the valve seats. Also the rest is cleaned and polished smooth.

The exhaust side really isn't needed, but that can be from $50-100, again, depending on what you want. Thanks!

so jack how much would it be for a valve job,mill,3 angle, valve guide inspection, head resurface, and slight porting of intake side? Or should i just call you? thanks again man. Also do you do any transmission work im looking for a good place to get my tranny rebuild. thanks man, kevin.

Oops, sorry, haven't been on here for awhile. I'd just have to take a look at it. Could you bring it by the shop? Yes, please call or PM. The guides are going to be the big factor on price. If they are badly worn or cracked then that's a big chunk of money on the rebuild. Everything else is pretty cheap.

Yes, I do a lot of tranny work. I can do anything you want to the tranny. What is wrong with it, or what do you want done to it? I charge $300 flat-rate plus parts on DSM tranny rebuilds. I have yet to have any failures on my customers builds, and I have been doing them for a very long time.
