As long as you use it the way they say to, which isn't hard at all, it works great.

Where did you get it at? I was thinking about this. I don't want their soap that they use.... but filtered water would be awesome... that is what will help prevent the water spots.

filtering doesnt soften the water. Is there a water softener built-in?

heres some info on it. http://www.homemadesimple.com/mrcleanautodry/spotless_tech.shtml i bought mine over the internet back in december and have used it about 10 times. i guess we have hard water up here cause ive gone threw 3 filters already. but it really works great on my black truck.

I got mine at Walmart. I think I paid 19.95 or something for it. Yes it comes with their own soap and it says not to use anything else cause part of the non-spotting formula is in the soap. Next time I use it I'm gonna try my Blue coral soap and see if it spots. It also says that each filter is only good for 3 washes or so depending on how "hard" your water is in your area. My water in Wheatridge is pretty "soft" so I most likely won't have to change them as often as some of you in other areas of town.

Found it at Target today for $19.99, but didn't buy it. The filter that comes with the starter kit they say is good for 3 washes, and then they say to replace it with their $5.49 filter which supposedly lasts for approx. 10 washes. Also, their soap refill is around the same price, and it's pretty thin shit, but thicker than I was expecting... They say not to use other soap because it may clog the device, in which they want you to return it to them for repair/replacement. Old fashion way is still better to me. But I did pick up a microfiber wash mit for like $3.99

They got it along with that whole new Meguires line you were talking about in the recent revision at Target. The store by my house here has a TINY auto department..and they still had it..maybe worth checking out.

However, they say its some "special polymer formulation" on the bottle..I really wonder what the hell the stuff is..and how well they validated it?

It's a dry rinse polymer soap. I have no clue what it is but it sounds cool and it works. The soap itself actually does a good job of cleaning. I'd rather use there soap then any other soap I've tried.

I'm glad someone finally posted about this. I agree that old fashioned way is still more fun but I'm down to try anything. If there is nothing to dry, what do you do? I guess that would be pretty cool though. Thanks for the info.

The soap is what makes it work, not the filterd water. You seriously have to follow the directions for it to work. And it will take some wax off of the car.
