OK, I was watching TV before I left TX, and there was this award for "teacher of the year" for some local school, and it was a band teacher.. they described how she.. in just 2 years turned a bunch of kids who had never held a musical instrument before into a very well organized and talented Band!

then they backed up their evidence.. with a performance..

now.. i didnt record the audio.. but if you can mentally picture, and listen... to a fully grown Grizzle bear.. in a full suit of armor.. inside of a dumpster.. making love to R2D2... all while having a cowbell hanging from its nutts.. that is STILL better than these kids..

now dont get me wrong, im sure it sounded great to a deaf mute retard or perhaps a deslexic parrot.. but when i was in Jr High our band actually sounded... like a band... not like a riot at a recycling center..

what is the deal with america's music programs these days?

I agree with you ryanman. Its really sad that music in schools suck now. I've played piano for 15+ years and I was in band and choir and I think that these days kids don't really have an oppturnity to experience music unless they're parents can pay 30 bucks a week for lessons. Teachers suck these days because they get paid shit, and I mean the music programs in school are almost gone so those teachers are getting paid even less, therefore they teach crappier. But at least that teacher tried right? ::rollseyes::

God, I hated band. Teacher sucked, music sucked, people sucked. I wish I had gotten my parents to get me a guitar. Oh well, it'll be something to learn out of college.
