MY computer is acting really weird, It acts as though my shift key is being held down, I can type half of the time and the cursor will dissapear for a few minutes and I cant get it back. The problem is that it only happens here on HAI and a few other web boards. Not all of them. The rest of my programs work fine. In fact it took me several minutes to type this on HAI so I opened op Word to do it and cut an paste. Is there a virus or something with the google toolbar that is causing this total meltdown of my patience? The laptop works flawless, just the desktop is doing this horseshit.

Oh and another question. Im sure its fucking spyware but I get a icon on my desktop from time to time that jsut shows up out of nowhere that is this symbol>>> ~

first one must have been some glitch in browser. couple of days ago i had my Enter key blocked for some reason, while i was typing reply here. cured by restarting browser. i mean, the reason could be and most probably is deeper, but it's too hard to say without looking at the internals.
as for the second - no idea. but if you suspect it's a spyware - get their free scanner http://www.enigmasoftwaregroup.com/products.shtml - it will show if you have something. but you'll have to remove it yourself

download adaware from lavasoft and scan the computer for spyware. It removes it and everything for you.

Already do that every day Brian. Restarting the browser helps with the problem but it comes back almost every single time. I can go hours at a time with no problem but some days I cant do anything at all.

the second one is most likely 'GAIN' do a search on your hard drive and remove it from there. :)

Tobi, you running regular old virus scanner as well? Update the virus definition files too.
