I'm not trying to start a war here or anything but I was at the track for a club clash a couple of weeks ago and I saw a bunch of imports out there. I thought it would be interesting so I watched the whole round of you guys run.

All I want to know is why do you guys even bother? I mean your cars are all cheap aluminum that can barely get down the track. The fastest one of you was running in the low 14's, I think it was a Supra or something. Don't those cost like 40 grand or more? Pathetic. The rest of you were a second or more behind that. I saw a Type R run a mid 16 I thought those were fast. There were even a few Civics keeping up with it. Hahaha! Everyone else was 18s or worse, I saw a 20 second economobile racing. :rolleyes:

Why even race that Jap Crap? You spend more to go slower and you hurt our economy in the process. Get a clue people! Buy American steel and win, or be losers in Japanese aluminum.

Why don't you people just stay at home and leave the drag racing to real cars? You're slowing up the entire event with you're little disposable cars.

I'm gonna agree with John on his comment. Both he and I show up to the track most of the time for T&T. I have never seen a 11second mustang that was street legal.

One reason I like modding 4cyl's is that once they are tuned we can eat up anyone on the track. My car is gonna be solid 12's at the next T&T. Your comment about why we waste our time is just like us asking "Why would you by something that is always Found On the Road Dead??" Just a thought.

I know a few Mustang guys here in the Springs, they are running 15 psi from D1s and T trims with 5 speeds and are only trapping at around 115 -118. Either this guy is way over 400 cubic inches or he has some kind of a magic motor. Granted, you could run that fast at Bandimere, but probably not with 10 psi from an S trim on a 302. Just my .02. Go whoop his ass John :).

(yes it has working AC) besides, it wasnt meant for drag racing anyway, I think the motto of club clash is "Run what ya Brung." That is why I drive my car to the track, race about 4-5 rounds (usually) and then drive it home. Drive it to work, to the store, on weekends, roadtrips, to the mall, cruise nights. Need I say more? I can't talk much crap (yet) as I haven't been to the track yet this year. My old record on relatively low boost so far was a 13.2 @106. Since then, I've gotten a few "Drag" mods (including a stroked motor and much larger turbo) that should help me shave a couple seconds off.

Are you running an Auto tranny 89GT? I'll bet you are. Damn slushboxes. Get a real car. Get something that takes real skill to drive down the 1/4 mile.

One other thing. Have you ever heard the expression "Old Iron"?

Personally I have yet to come across any domestics, street legal (and on the streets) that handed my ass to me in a race. Whether it be on the streets or at bandimere. I wouldn't hesitate to run anything up here at altitude that's not blown. Even if it was blown, I'd just have to do a cleaner run and probably up the boost another 2-3 psi.

I can believe that there are N/A cars up here that have run 10's. It's just that there are so few that have done it. I have yet to come across anything like that on the street. PLEASE, let us cross paths you so you can hand my ass to me! I want to see a 1.3 60' time right next to me. :)

Usually, I run a little less boost than what I *can* run just for safety. It also helps the gas milage out tremendously. You can't forget the "A/C was on" excuse either :)

I try not to sound cocky or showoffish, but sometimes there are those select few...

Well I did read it, just because I needed closure. It’s a classic David vs. Goliath, little block vs. big block.
