Ok I am trying to decide which sub to get for my RX7.

I like the bassling because it is small and practicle, but the integrated amp is only good to about 200watts @ 2 ohms.

My other option is a Alpine Type R with a 350 watt d class amp I already have @ 4 ohms.

I know the alpine will sound better, but it is also more expensive. I am wondering if it is worth the difference in price of about $100.

This is BlubyU. My basslink sounded pretty good in the trunk, probably better in your car. BUT, it blew up on me for no exact reason. Sounds like either setup would be good, but the basslink is nice because it's all in one. Just make sure you get an extended warranty and remote gain!

Any idea what might have gone wrong?

It just smoked up on me one day. The power led comes on, but no sound. I still have it if you want something to toy around with. I got the clear one off of ebay for I think it was 280 shipped. I got it at a good price but no warranty. It lasted me about 9 months.

the basslink is a POS it has about as much bass as a good pair of 6x9's

if you want some bass go with a regular sub, a type r and a kicker would be last on my list however.
either get a JL, eclipse, or at worst maybe a fosgate. get a ported box and a 200 watt amp youll be set.
if you want i can build you a box and get you the amp at wholesale.
or if you want ill build you a box using one of my subs. since i custom designed my subs i know their limits and i know the best box to use with them.

With those 6x9s running off the power from your deck too!! Well maybe not that bad..but sound 'solutions' like are rarely impressive..I'm totally with kevin in this one..custom box in a speaker thats built for that..given a fair amount of power it should rip your head off in a little car. :)

I already have an amp for the sub, but what kind of subs do you have? The reason I mensioned the type R is because I can get a really good deal on it. Also I don;t think a ported box is the way to go, I don't have that kind of space.

ported boxes being larger than sealed is a caraudio stores myth. many installers dont even know how a ported box works let alone build one.
a ported box can be the same size as a sealed box but the ported box is largly more efficient than sealed. with 1 size smaller sub i can get the bass of the larger sub in a sealed box but the smaller ported sub will play lower and louder.

even a free type r sub i would pass on. they have an awefull frequency responce. the cone is too heavy for ported applications and the motor is too weak for sealed applications.

the kind of subs i have are my own, i was running my own business for a while which i have let go because i decided to go into insurance. but i had my own subs built to my specifications for my own patented boxes. for the money my subs will handel a lot more power, are more efficient and sq wise stomp the competition for the price.
you can ask any of the folks on this site what they think that have seen them and im sure they will agree.

send Maxx a PM and see what he says. he spent about 4 hours with me last week getting educated on subwoofer design. im building a home theater sub enclosure as well as a car sub enclosure for him.

How much would you charge for your sub (10") with box.

Also how big would the box be, it and only be 9" tall and 12-14 inches wide but length is a little more jenerous.

Also what are the specs on your sub.

Feel free to pm me if you don't want to talk price in the thread.
