Actually, I do. My bf is getting the H22a in his 95' Civic right now. There's alot of drawbacks to that motor, but it's a good one to have I think. You should look into it. Honda Menders is puttin it in for us, I'll have him post pics for you if you want. It's a huge motor. lol. it's crazy. his screen name is 95civic_h22a or something like that. :)

Nice thanks. I was looking at that web page and they have a D-15 Vtec?!?! I didnt know that was even available. Im looking hard at the same engine already H22a pushes more horse and has more torque, not to mention cheaper than a b-18c.
99integra-girl
02-20-2004, 12:58 PM
It's cheaper yea, but don't just go for it. I'd search around some more first. Get as much info as you can. There really are some things about that motor that not all people would want to deal with. You'll have to do alot of modifying, especially with your suspension. We're just figuring that out now. But if you're just flat out lookin for some balls that motors got it. He's found some crazy info on that beast. lol.

No doubt my buddy put a B-18 in his CRX. Thank god he didnt have coil overs on it otherwise we would have had to lift it. We had to put some new springs in the rear reguardless. Im already dropped 1.5" so I need to be carefull when I choose.

Yeah, I raced my buddies 3000gt vr4 too when I had my old motor and boosted to shit and hung side by side all the way through the length of the road. I was satisfied. I had about 9000 in my motor and he was stock but still. I can't wait to redo my sleeves on this h22 and boost is too. It will be harder though cause the sleeves are very thin.

02-20-2004, 01:47 PM
yea he didnt have his boost up yet on his vr4. sounds like you got a setup close to the guy we mighta raced. i was surprised how well he kept up. i mean it really isnt fair racing a vr4. i had to give the guy lots of credit. he had to have put nearly 10g's like you did.

The price for this motor will vary where you choose to buy it. I got mine from www.total-boost.com Thay are pretty cool and The motor was very clean when it arrived. It was 2652.00 shipped to my mechanics shop. You are going to be looking at different prices too, again, depending on where you get it put in. I had mine put in at Honda menders. (www.hondamenders.com) Jay and Bill are awesome. And Patient :) It is costing me 850.00 for install. You will need axels (94 Integra B-series axels) It's important to get this year axels because of the male and female ends to join with the prelude jackshaft. A prelude cable shifter. 50.00 Accord resistors for about 20.00. You'll obviously need to keep your stock civic wiring harness to be converted with the prelude harness. This is tricky but doable. Another thing New mounts. (aftermarket mounts) I got mine from enjo. Unless something good happens with these mounts soon I'm going to fucking scream. The passenger side tranny mount doesn't line up but Enjo's tech center just assured me that the motor once raised into the bay will line up after twisting due to the size of the motor. I hope so. The mounts look pretty sweet so I will keep you informed of the fit. I paid 389.00 shipped for them so I can't complain but Hasport sells a kit too. I heard they are really good. You will need upper and lower coolant hoses 20.00, a new timing belt NAPA 25-060370. This is an alternator belt to compensate for the lack of a/c. You CAN i repeat CAN keep your A/C and P/S but it's tricky and time consuming. Not to mention walet consuming. I chose not to keep these. The belt cost me I think 17.00. Last but not least you are STRONGLY encouraged to replace your suspension. I had Sprint 2.50" drop springs and just bought a set of 1.5" 94 Integra springs to compensate for the added weight. Which is a lot more thatn a civic motor. I hope I didn't forget anything. The whole swap has ran me just over 4000.00 which is not bad at all in my opinion. Just know this swap is fairly complicated as a word. But in the long run I'm sure you will love it. Good luck to those out there looking to do this swap. Hope this helps. Here's a link of swap guidelines for more help.

Another thing. I had about 375 hp on my D16 motor before this swap. It casts about 9,000.00 to do though. I still blew it after about10 months. So however you wanna go. If you want torque on stock motor do the h22 its torque is ungoddly. plus its an awesome motor to run nitrous on. You can run a 100 shot easily on stock internals.
95civic_h22a
02-20-2004, 02:45 PM
The b16 the b18(gsr) the d15 obviously too. All should go right in. Plug in and start up. The integra im not sure about and the type r isn't too bad the h22 is the most complicated but I like having unique things on my car which is why I went for the lude swap.
Varao
02-20-2004, 02:45 PM
DAMN!! 375 on a d-16 you had turbo im guessing. Is it even worth it to put turbo on my D-15 and just run it into the ground before I swap?
95civic_h22a
02-20-2004, 02:46 PM
Everyone does the GSR swap. It's an awesome motor but none the less a little too played out for my taste you know?
Varao
02-20-2004, 02:48 PM
Yeah everyone I know is all bout the GSR. But when you look at the specs the H22 puts out more for less!
95civic_h22a
02-20-2004, 02:48 PM
NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!! Spend the money towards a turbo on a swap. My greddy turbo and intercooler blow off vave turbo timer guages and install were 3000.00 plus thats your swap right there. Yeah it was fast as shit though. While it lasted.
95civic_h22a
02-20-2004, 02:49 PM
It's cheap because you need to buy some shit to make it work. Is your car already lowered? If so how much? Springs or coilovers?

yeah it s lowered bout 1.5" Coilovers.

Ok coilovers aren't y favorite thing but will help with this swap because the motor weighs so much more than the stock one. I would recommend Integra springs they are much stronger. Like I said earlier I have 2.50 on the rear and front and just bought 1.50 to relace the front ones hopefully it will sit as low as it did before the swap

It's red imported german leather. Not trying to sound rich or anything but if that's what it's called I might as well call it that you know? :) And the dash is red paint. The doors are leather too.

"the scene" is not reasonable up here. People up here have no clue what they're doing. really! you should see some of these cars. lol. it's so disappointing. We're gonna start comin down to CO to kick it with some of you guys. 'burnout:
Well..as a "scene" its just starting out in Cheyenne...sure there are a few ghetto ricers up there..but thats really to be expected with somewhere as "rural" as Cheyenne..(I know I lived there for a few months).
I was just saying thats its good that it has developed at all..I'm from montana originally, lots of the people there are just hicks with big chevys..much like Cheyenne. I'd assume it was originally the jetter kids in Cheyenne that got things going..I cant tell you how many accidents I nearly caused rolling thru there in my Evo when they were brand new. :)

What are some of the drawbacks?
