everytime i open a explorer window and use it for a few minutes and go to favorites or sometimes i dont even have to do that a error comes up saying explorer has caused a error in kernel32.dll ive ran norton anti virus and theres no viruses and i ran scandisk and everything i can think of , i even reinstalled windows. Does anyone know y this keeps happening and how i can fix it? also i would like to know how do u find out what my cpu temp is because i dont know how to get to that.
It's doing it because it's ME. Get rid of it!
The only way that I know of to get your CPU temp, if your computer doesn't already have a sensor on there, is to buy a sensor. I got one at CompUsa for like $15.

lol thanks , ya i know ME is a piece of shit so are dell comps im planning to upgrade to xp or i might just format and do the full install i dont know what would be better or if there might be errors still
kernell32.dll is a software issue. I used to get that with ME, reload Windows and it'd be fine for a few weeks. Finally got tired of it and went with XP.

Dell actually makes pretty decent computers, but I couldn't justify paying $3,200 for the system that I wanted. So, I built a custom one with everything I wanted for just over $500.
That does sound like a software issue. If I were you, I would reformat the hard drive immediately and install XP, or go back to 98.
ME is Microsoft's derelict retarded redheaded stepchild.

why should i do it immediately ? just wondering, would it run better than if i just did a update to xp?

You could try that. If it was me, I would just wipe the HD clean and start over though.

ME is the only error on the system ;). Seriously though Windows ME was probably microsofts biggest mistake of an OS ever
