I own a 1990 Acura Integra LS which has a cable operated transmission, I am getting a B18C5 which has a hydraulic operated transmission. I want to use the S80 transmission off of the B18C5 because of the LSD and because the gearing is the supposedly the best for naturaully aspirated cars. Obviously something has to be done about the hydraulically operated versus cable operated transmission problem. Now here is my problem, what do I need to do to use the hydraulically operated transmission?

There are conversion kits out there.

Hasport. I think there conversion is close to 2 bills not sure though.
I noticed your doing a b18c5 swap in your integra. I would recommend an OBD1 conversion also buddy! Again just call Hasport and get the checklist going (single o2 sensor which you'll need an obd1 plug, obd1 distributor, obd1 type r ecu preferably jdm, and some other crap I can't think of right now). Have fun!

If it were my car I would keep the cable trans in the car and swap in all the guts from the C5 tranny, The cable housings are much stronger and with a little work you can fit all of that stuff in there. The best of both worlds.

If you wanted the gearing of the R trannys, then just get a JDM S1 cable tranny. Some come with LSD but good luck finding one that does.

I am trying to keep my S80 tranny for the whole purpose of LSD and the best gear ratios for naturally aspirated hondas. That is why I am doing th conversion, thanks for the help, I wasn't going to go OBD1 but I guess maybe I shall now.

Sorry I meant to say the JDM S1 Tranny is the exact same gearing as the S80 and they do make them with LSD, you just have to do some researching.

Are you talking about the YS1 off of the B17A GS-R?
