I did a swap in my 95 civic ex. had the stock d16z6 (or 5?). swapped a jdm b16a2 into it. full swap. Fit's like a dream and looks seksi as hell. Keep with me, i've done all my research online so the written part i'm ok with but the visual identification of parts is crap.

Here's my probs. I used the old wiring harness to hook it up. with all my reading i found i didn't need a knock sensor and the O2 sensor will fit directly into the headers i bought so i should be good there as well. On the d16, as you face the front of the motor, there's a fuel/vacuum hookup mounted on the back of the manifold. I don't really know what it is. i just know it has a sensor plug in, a nozzle for rubber tubing, and a rubber mushroom head cap on it. It has a rubber tube running from it to the EVAP.

On the b16a2 (obd1) there isn't any such sensor on the manifold. However, it does have one just above the oil filter. Not the metal plug ( i believe thats the knock sensor) but the one between the intake manifold and the "knock sensor". The d16 didn't have that. I plugged the fitting into there that went on the above mentioned sensor. I went to the junk yard to get my shift linkage from a 94 integra, i saw that same sensor mounted on the firewall with the MAP sensor. Only there were two. I'm assuming it's 1 per cam? since my d16 had one cam it had one sensor. b16 has two... etc.

I bought the setup with the two of them. I figured out how to hook them up. Prob i have is this... It has a square, 4 prong connector with green/yellow and black/yellow wire on one side and green and black on other side. No idea how to hook these to the ecu or if i even need to. None of the obd1 b16a2 swap into an eg5 forums i've read mention anything about these. Main topic on those is "it bolts right in, it wires right up, but you may need to run an o2 or knock sensor." So far, that's not the case. I've done a lot of custom mods on my own and this is all i have left before i can start it up. Need to know if this stuff means anything.

Thanks all. Again, i don't know much about these things. all my research has been online and it took me about 18 hours to pull old motor and install new one on my own. please help me out here.

Forgot to mention that when i was putting my 95 harness on, i matched the wire colors and replaced them as i took them off. Everything is wired according to the way the jdm harness was hooked up.

go to your local Autozone, and buy the Haynes for the car you own, it will tell you what sensors are where, and what wires belong to them

If i can't find the answer here, i'll have to take it to the honda shop and have them answer it for me.

Buy a Helm, they are hands down the best. I've read Chiltons, Haynes and Helm, and Helm is far and away the best.

well, i said screw it and filled the fluids and bypassed those missing sensors. it started up like a dream. However, the jap oil filter on there blew like a prom date and spewed about 4 quarts of oil all over my garage floor. Gotta replace that and we'll see what happens. I found out it's to a vacuum line.

Went down to team honda and looked at the 99 civic si diagram they had and it shows the part i have but says it's not applicable to that motor. However, it is on the acura. donno if it's going to effect the way it runs or not. we'll find out soon enough i guess.
