K, I've been under my car for a half hour, and just got my turbo out. Now I need a new gasket for the turbo drain pipe, but will RTV sealant work, and not erode? I know that I have the high temp stuff, but the temp range doesn't look up to it. However I'm in a bind and just looking for info. If you have some concrete evidence or experience on way or the other just let me know.

Thanks, Robbie

From what I've seen from using ONLY sealant and no gasket is that it'll eventually start leaking. You can go to any parts store and get a sheet of gasket material for a couple bucks and cut out your own.

Actually, I'm reusing my old one, and putting sealant on both sides. My friend in Utah with the exact turbo setup as mine says it works on his car.

OH well yeah if your old gasket is fine then use it. I thought you meant your old gasket was trashed and were only going to use RTV.

The gasket is leaking and I'm using it still, but using RTV so that it doesn't leak anymore.
