It happens to my turbo Integra, but only if I'm really beating the crap out of it. I never checked to see if it got that hot when it was NA.

The EGT's shouldnt get hot enough to make the manifold glow if it basically stock.
If it is running a little bit lean it may glow when hammered on for long periods of time.

IF it's stock and it's running lean in CO then you got problems. "Normally" vehicles tend to run a bit rich up there.

You should see the manifold from the Evo after a bit of abuse...good times. :) I could have read a book from the light that thing was putting off a few times I think.

It depends. Is your motor turbocharged? If not, you've got something 'bad' going on. Clogged cat converter, clogged injectors, hosed ECU, something.
If you are turbocharged, then yes - it's "normal" for the exhaust manifold to have a nice glow to it after a spirited drive.

its sluggish but not running horribly i know nothing is wrong with the timming belt

i heard that it might have something to do with the intake and/or the throttle body.
its defintely running to lean
im not sure if its because of the temp outside or what
anyone know anything about the intake ????? ;NutKick; :guns:

only if its a vacuum leak but to cause that it would need to be a big one. does it idle?

It's definitely not normal. I'd like to know what Acura dealerships told you it was fine. :guns:

y would it have anything to do with the cat?
If the cat is plugged, the exaust will back up, heat will build, and the manifold will glow....... thats why turbo mani`s will do that... the turbo is actually a restriction on the exaust at times, so heat will build a little higher then normal.... some one correct me if I'm wrong (I know this is a pretty simplified answere, but, well...........................................)

if the cat is not flowing, the hot exhaust can not escape.
