I had a problem where my steering wheel would shake a little when I was braking at high speeds (like 60+ mph). I brought it in and you did my 30k tuneup and new brakes, which fixed it perfectly.
I think the same problem might be comming back. I think i've felt a little bit of shaking, but haven't really hit it hard to test it. When the roads get better i'll brake at 80 and see if it's definatly comming back. If it is do you think it's something you can fix?
On a side note, you don't happen to have a use (or know someone who does) for a 350 chevy motor do you? I got one a while back for cheap. The guy said it smokes, but someone who knows way more than me said the seals just have to be replaced. I'd probably give it away to someone if they'd want to pick it up.

Sounds like a braking issue again. Maybe a rotor getting warped. Maybe just get them re-surfaced. I'm sure Tobi can do that.

I was afraid of that. I thinkyour rotors are too thin to hold another resurface. I think its time to upgrade to some slotted or drilled ones Dr.J. I have a couple of chevy budies, Im sure I can get one of them to take it off your hands.

Do you know what the motor is out of? If you have time, can you take a picture of the back of the block, there will be some letters that are cast into the block. That is handy info.
thanks,.

So is whatever is causing the rotors to warp something I should worry about? ie could it be something that is misaligned? Back when they were doing the onramp by myhouse there was a little 4 inch height difference in pavement for a month or two before those morons fixed it. It was on the onramp so I had to go over it often at pretty good speeds (even though I would slow down untill I hit it). Plus my car had a little front end damange earlier last year. Could one of those thrown something off?
Or maybe (as Stu sugested) it could just be the fact that I don't know how to drive (Jason can probably support this). I think my clutch might be going too. Maybe I should get that replaced.

they usually warp for a couple of reasons, most common is overheating from hard braking. But once you machine them that makes them thinner and more likely to warp again. If I cut them another time it is only going to make it worse. So its time to start from scratch with new rotors. Its just how it is, nothing really that you are doing. The rotors on my civic are warped as fuck butI dont care, I dont have to live with it for very long. I can do the clutch and the rotors at the same time, it might save you a few bucks in labor.

For the clutch and rotors, is there something better than stock that I should get? I mean the rest of my car is stock so I don't really need to upgrade anything to hold the power, but I don't mind spending some more $$$ for parts if they are better than what's on there.

On the clutch no, you will end up spending way more than needed. On the rotors yes. Should get new pads too. Ill look into what I have available.

For slotted rotors and some good street performance brake pads with installation you are looking at $415 installed. There is a little bit of a labor break in there too because of the work you have done fo rme in the past and in the future also.
On the clutch parts and labor will be $525 parts and labor.
