Ripped Off: Speed Effects in the Springs

I purchased a Flex-a-lite fan for a 93 civic coupe from Charlie Sherwood (Speed Effects) in June of '02. I gave him $175 cash and have yet to see the fan. I have been in touch with him over the past year and a half promising I will see the refund check in my mailbox, but it hasn't shown.

Anyone know this guy, or live in the Springs and care to check out the shop to see if it's even still around?

Ok lets set this straight. By no means have I ever been out to rip anyone off ever! For those that know me and have had work done by me know this! Yes I will be honest and say that I have not sent that refund out to you! I am at fault there. There are no excuses for it at all. I should have sent it off forever ago but other things had happened and I never did get around to doing that. I am sorry for it! I have e-mailed you regaurding it as well. I would like to either send that to you via business check or via paypal and I will include the extra 3% fee they charge! As for my shop like others have said. I dont have one. If I charged people more for the work I do than maybe I could afford one! So for now I do personalized work for people at a very affordable price!! Whether its fully built b20/vtec/turbo or just a simple intake sale and install I will hook any and everyone up. Now Dan I see you are looking for an si wing or lip? Let me know as I have both! This is in no way a defamation of your character. You were one of the coolest most genuine people I've ever met. I know you had other things going on, but it's been almost 2 YEARS! I was extremely frustrated and didn't know what else to do. At least this got your attention. I fully believe that Charlie is an upstanding guy and does awesome work, it just got a little rediculous after SO MANY EMAILS that I figured I'd try and reach out for some help. I wish you the best of luck..and someone get this guy some business so he can OPEN a shop and get all his stuff ORGANIZED! Ha. j/k.

so far we are happy with our engine that he and a friend here at the hobby shop built...i'll let you know if it blows up after we tune it for higher boost. I have heard he is a great guy and does his work for very cheap and does it well....but having things come together in a timely manner is huge especially for my brother and I. i havnt had a huge problem with getting things on time from him so far but obvioiuslyy others have. So will i go to him if i need anything? i dont know...i guess it depends on how fast i need it.

Thanks for the good word.Whats wrong with the clutch? That was a new exedy I installed a long with the build! Toast already. I do think Alex should have gone with at least a 6 puck. $ was the factor on it I guess? Yeah there have been a couple things I have lagged on,but quality is not one of them nor is getting you the best product out there at the best price! Speed should not be an issue with a complete engine build,getting your parts should be though. Im here to help anyone that wants it at an excellent price! PM if you are in need of anything!!
