Snow in the city sucks. Like certain people cutting you off, causing you to lock your brakes, hitting a curb and making you pay 600 bucks for a new control arm. Plus it makes you drive slow :ring:

I love the snow... that's why I am in Colorado - while a Honda with no E-Brake isn't fun, it's drivable..
Now, the really sucky part - I have to work tonight. :(

well where do you work? I'm by Dublin and Academy and it's basically fogged up with snow. Our parking lot didnt' have a drop of snow except for when it melted (that was 10 min ago) and now it's covered with snow. I can barely see the street lights or anybody driving on academy.

Monarch has very few though. Breck has a good amount though.
As for A-basin, you said it's a boarding place? I need to learn how to board, I just can't toe-heel, it's so sad. I'm a skiier myself

Then teach me how to toe-heel easily. I can heel-toe and brake but I can't toe-heel. Last time I tried to learn by myself, it was the most painful 4 hours of my life.

Yeah, I'm glad I'm home. I put my snow tires on at 3, went back to work just to leave at 4:30. Bah!
It's slick up around 92nd and Federal too. Lady in front of me hit the brakes and went into the curb. Then I see some idiots fly by her really fast and not to be evil or anything, but I was hoping they'd slide and cause an accident.

I'm up at research and explorer which is just north of chapel hills mall. I drove over to taco bell for lunch/dinner and it was icy as hell. Hopefully the plows hit the roads before I get off work at 10. I only have to drive over to garden of the gods, but still...........

I was in the Springs. I just got back I left I-25 and Filmore at about 4:20 and now I'm in lakewood almost 4 hours later. The drive was such a blast I almost killed this female in an avalon. For some reason she thought C-470 was 5 lanes instead of 2 I kept flashing my lights and she cut me off, I started to slide and came about 2 inches from her rear driver door. well time for me to go play in the snow some more. I shall return ;)

This morning before it started to snow they started spraying stuff on the roads. It seems like it's worse then it is usually. I have 2 bald tires on the back, 1 bald tire on the front, and 1 brand new tire on the other side of the front. Now that's interesting...

Road report:
Well it definitely is ALL black ice but nothing a good driver should be able to avoid. It's really easy to drive on as long as you don't go crazy. There is this one spot that's really bad by my house though. I was trying to turn at 5 mph and my car wouldn't turn, I had the steering wheel facing the right and it kept going straight. I started laughing.

12-09-2003, 12:00 AM
Well, the Storm seems to handle this stuff much better. Didn't get stuck on any hills, no loss of control, only locked the brakes once. I'm quite happy.
I sucked water into my motor on 6th on the way to my final (which I found out wasn't even today) today at like 1:00. The last snow messed up my fender lining, and it ended up ripping out. I was a little worried about it, but not too much. Anyway, I was in the left lane going 65, and since I knew it was cold out, I pushed the throttle all the way to the floor (in fifth) to see what pressure reading I'd get on theSAFC. Well, instead what I got was a big fat bog. So, I resumed to partial throttle to keep my speed constant, in hopes of making it all the way to school. Any time I did anything with the gas I got a bog, so I started getting over to the right just in case. Well, the ruts are even worse in the middle lane (Southbound 6th) and all the lane changing didn't help. After I got to the middle lane I couldn't even keep a constant speed, so I got over again into the right lane to exit on Sheridan. When I came to a stop on the ramp to go south, the car died and wouldn't start again. At first it would start then die, then it wouldn't start at all. After a few more tries (along with some wonderful grinds from the starter) it started again, but would die, then I finally got it started and pulled it into the Gordo's parking lot. I noticed that while I was on the highway, a lot of white steam seemed to be comoing out of my tailpipe, but I couldn't really tell if it was from the water in the enigne, or the water on the street.
Anyway, I ended up leaving it there all day and all night. I bought a short ram from John (SpeedStar91) but it didn't fit under the hood. So I ended up just putting the new filter right onto the throttle body. All is good now though. I hope anyway.
Mr. NoSkills
12-09-2003, 12:38 AM
well shit. i got home about an hour ago. I-25 wasn't too bad. it's all pretty much packed snow though so you can't really see any lanes. same with santa-fe. nothing crazy though, it only took me about 10 more minutes then when it's dry out.
it's still kind of snowing though. i bet tomorrow morning will be fun haha.
