View Full Version : Most useless part in your car?

my car has this fucked up coin holder to the left of the steering wheel, its completely useless because the center armrest already has a decent coin holder and this thing serves no use at all. at least in canadian versions of my car, it's an ash tray. who the fuck wants 2 coin holders? also, near the shifter there is a little slot to hold a pencil or pen; but everytime i take a turn, the pen falls out. i dont know what honda designers were thinking there

so what are some useless things in your car?

In the Impulse (the relative of the Storm) there are controls for the power mirrors. My car doesn't have them, so instead there's this little cubby thingy that won't hold jack. A block-off panel would've been less gay.

the cup holder under the stereo, it's a bitch to get it to pop out, and when you do find a cup that will fit in it, you can't get to the stereo or ashtray(95 Mazda MX-3).

I KNOW WTF! that pen holder is fucking pointless...... as for the little extra coin holder on the other side of the steering wheel it can be used for an assortment of things for example spare key, ummmm twinkie? i dunno shit would fit in there though

my cupholder, its a piece of plastic with two holes that come out of my dash and a thin piece of wire below it to hold the cups.

hell I think my car has great engineering, I think there are no real useless peices on it but there are some nifty area's that have switch panels but no switches I always wonder what goes there. ok fine the most useless part of my car right now is the tape player, I have a Pioneer deck and since mine has the double din, rather then getting the cubby, I just left the tape player in.

I have a coin holder like that too, but it's my only one. It's been known to pop open and dump coins all over the car.

I also have a rear window washer... the wiper is useful in the rain, but the washer is silly because it doesn't exactly get dirty. But that's ok, I have found a much better use for it... I once aimed it up as high as it would go, then connected it to my alarm's extra channel. It wasn't enough to hit cars behind me, but it was awesome for squirting anyone who walked behind my car. :D I'd just put my hands in my pockets, press a button on my remote, then someone would get wet and look around all confused because they had no idea what just happened. I should hook that back up... I didn't bother to do it when I re-did my security, but I'm missing the squirt cannon feature.

My car doesn't even have a cup holder. But maybe the sequential turbos. They should have gone single from the factory.

VW cup holders suck. Don't plan on using them for anything but a can of pop. Last night I was looking at cars at the dealership, and on the window sticker on a new 350Z, it said it had 3 cup holders. WTF? it's a two seater, why would you need 3 cup holders??

LeonZ

the window sticker of my car said

"4 door coupe" and listed all this random equipment that doesnt exist like power passenger seat with memory.

The cup holders in the del Sol are pretty much worthless...just because their location makes them a real pain in the ass when you have stuff in there..and it doesnt hold it for shit anyway. Other than that..its definately the little glove boxes behind the seats! I keep the seats back all the way all the time..so they are just a big pain in the ass to use..talk about some weird engineering.

btw, in 2003 model they don't have it anymore. just coin-holders in the arm-rest. your model is somewhat a coin-holder hybrid between 5th and 7th generation Accords ;)

the cup holder.... they put it right behind the shifter in the middle console so you end up spilling what ever you have in there every time you shift

On my Eclipse it had to be the factory boost guage which was in no way even connected to the turbo, the rear window sprayer aslo was never used.

Well, even though this is old as fuck, the most uselss part in my car (other than the engine) is the power antenna. It's a redundant antenna, the rear hatch glass defrost line things are an antenna as well, and removing the lame power antenna that ALWAYS breaks has no adverse effects on reception.

Oh, and the cupholder is pretty lame too, you can't reach your drink unless you're double jointed.

There is a 1 inch empty metal box bolted to my firewall. I think it's an attempt at a sick joke because you can't fit an sr20 in my car without removing it.

That reminds me, under the dash support of a VW Jetta, there is a ~2 pound weight bolted in. I'ts just a piece of iron with two bolt holes. Swear to God, I cannot figure out why the fuck it's there.

I pulled one off a 2000 Wolfensberg Edition 1.8T I was parting out, I still have it in the garage somehwere, found it while I was moving. I should really take a picture of it, you really can't grasp the concept it's a piece of iron with two holes in it until you see it
