I feel a major cold coming on and I want to try to slow it down or stop it. I just got over a pretty bad flu/cold and I think it's coming back.
Anybody have any remedies that work to try to stop this from coming on or slow it down?? Any effective ways to boost my immune system etc?
Thanks for any ideas.

Lots of water and good food. Vitamin C doesn't hurt, if you OD on it you just end up pissing it out. I've had some success with cold-eaze and other zinc lozenges in the past. But, this is prolly just the old placebo effect.
Take a nap, lay off the crack and call me in the morning.

drink hot tea with lemon :)
If it gets into your sinuses, you could shoot it right out of your face with a Desert Eagle 5.0.

zinc and lots of vitamin c are both really effective options, make sure you drink a LOT of water with the C so you absorb as much of it as possible..try like 2000mg or so..then maybe some of those uber tasty zinc drops

Dump a bucket of ice cold water on your head at 5:00am every day apparently.
Anyone else remember that post?

Get some ZICAM. (http://www.zicam.com) It makes vitamin C and hot tea look like a joke. It will GREATLY reduce symptoms and cut your cold down to 2 days. Trust me, try it. I gaurantee you'll be pissed you havn't used it before. The shit is a freakin miracle.

I don't remember what it's called, but I once tried what looked like some tiny metal (ie silver colored) balls that you let dissolve on your tounge... It did a great job of clearing my sinuses and got rid of my sore throat. I can't remember the name, but I believe it's easy to come by and is most likely an asian remedy.

Lots of water (10-12 cups on a bad day, You should be drinking at least 7-10 cups a day when your not sick), stay active don't just sit on your ass all day. You shouldn't need all this zinc crap it doesnt really do any thing for you and recent studies have proven that ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) doesn't really do any thing either. One other thing make sure you EAT something decent and not just junk. Other than that good luck. :)

Don't sleep too much, try to be semi-active and drink warm drinks. I love white tea, that stuff works well.
