Read the manual. It should be in there.

turn the car to on but dont start it yet, push the reset trip button for like 20 seconds keep ur finger on it. After you do that then turn the car on.

You are all wrong. On a 98 accord you have to hold in the trip reset button with the key off, while holding it in turn the key on and wait. It will come on, blink, stay on for a while and then shut off. Then you turn the key off and it will reset. If you do the service that is required which I personally reccomend the tech will shut it off for you. That is the whole point of the light.

If I'm not mistaken, it's not just a "change your oil" light. That service is normally very detailed to find out if there are other issues the owner should be aware of. Kind of a preventative maintenance type check-up.

Hate to dredge this up again, is it the same procedure for an '03 Civic. Took the car to the dealership, and they forgot to reset the light.

I don't want to drive my girl firends car all over town again to get them to turn it off.

Thanks.
