Well...it is actually a very bad time of year to get a paint job as you all know, but perhaps there is some discounts for the winter! I thought I'd ask if anyone knew of a company that was fairly priced and BETTER than MACCO! If anyone knows, just post it and hopefully it can help more people than just me! Also, the paint on the car seems to be fine but I was wondering if you get it clear coated if it will look like a deeper paint and more glossy.

Umm you can't just get a car re clear coated. Doesn't work that way.

I wouldnt advise that unless you have done it before and know what you are doing

and he answered you lol.
You can try it yourself, I messed up my first time but it was because I let it sit too long in my garage and got dust everywhere. And my spray gun got all messed up. But otherwise it isn't too hard, and it doesn't take as long as a paintshop.

but if you dont know what you are doing you will get runs in the paint.... especialy if it is cold out.... the colder it is the more likely you are to get runs in the paint.... now you can say to spray it on it several thin coats but if you do that it wont look as deep or even... I just would not recomend someone to paint their own car... especilay this time of year... it also takes alot of prep work and most ppl dont have the suficient tools to prep the car... to do it right a DA (dual action) sander is needed.

Yes sir.
But I just like the idea of spending $400 to paint a whole car....instead of $4000 to have somebody else do it.

sometimes it does take quite a long, hehe. I'm working on my front bumper now.
and i guess i started mid-summer. though i've spend not more than a day of actual time on it. and with such weather i wouldn't be surprized to finish next summer ;)
anyway, that's 'cause i don't have a garage. but i agree - it is not too hard, and i think you don't necessarily have to have sander, i worked with paint-stripper on a drill, and then sanding paper disk on the same drill to smooth it up. 400 grit.
I guess working on metal is even easier, in terms of smoothing up the surface - paint stripper scratched bumper plastic.
